A Joyous Meeting that Inspires

A recap of a meeting in which Eric won the Best Prepared Speaker award for a speech about the Authentic, Ideal, and Real Self, Celia gave a humorous speech about not wanting a second child, and Michelle Yang served as Toastmaster of the Meeting for the first time.

Umm……Ah……E……. Sorry, I was late for our last meeting. But from our Evaluators’ evaluations, I guess Lily, Celia, Eric and Ringo must have done very excellent job.

Wonderful Speeches

Celia’s speech about second child was quite funny, making us laugh again and again. Yes. To have a second child is not easy. It requires a bigger house. The mother needs to cut her work time and entertainment time which mean a lot of sacrifice. That is why Celia says NO to a second child. Brother Eric won the best prepared speaker award. He helped us understand ourselves better by balancing the Authentic Self, Ideal Self and Real Self.

Sunny inspired us to be a positive thinker with her story about the nickname of 灭绝师太. Lily Zhou also did a fantastic job. She told us how did she overcome difficulties and introduced two amazing books to us. She is such a kind girl to give 《人生不设限》 to Lila as a gift. For Louis, he still lives on his speed and space. He just said what he wanted no matter whether we can understand it or not. Such a brave boy! Michael, a professional love story teller, told another usual love story. It is real that someone is willing to give up throne for love so Long Live Love.

Supportive Facilitators

For the facilitators, the most impressive role was our TME, Michelle yang. As her first try, it opened our eyes to see another kind of Michelle. To introduce our Michael Liu, she gave us a Michael Jacson show. In the transmission for next evaluator Uncle Eric, she shouted, “wow, wow, wow”. All of these made us laugh loudly. So confident. Kevin, he picked out over time speakers and well control time speaker in a very humorous way. Michelle Ye, she played grammarian role as an evaluator, analyzing all speakers one by one.

Inspiring Evaluation

For evaluation, I found some weapon sentences during this session. For example: “Do you know what are the basic requirements for a good speaker? ‘Balabala’.” Congratulations to you (Ringo). Your performance had included all” I found that this is Carol’s golden sentence, which she used very often. But I have to say it is really a very natural way to praise somebody.“Do you like Michael’s speech?” – “Yes.” – “Then where is the applause? " This sentence is from NETM’s Catherina. It is a very smart question to ask for applause from audiences, much better than the way that we give applause to speaker directly. Another secret I have found is that all of us are becoming more and more humorous. I think this is because we are more and more skilled at speaking in English.

SZTM regular meeting, miss once, miss a lot. I look forward to the next meeting.
