Before the meeting, SAA Tao reached the meeting room early and arranged the room, welcomed the arrivals, after he anounced the start of the meeting and introduced the meeting rules.
President April Luo gave opening remarks and introduced the toastermaster and SZTM club, we are the first club in Shenzhen, it is a place to practise communication skills and leadship skills.
Tall and slim Ree served as master of the evening, she addded color and “high” level to the meeting, we call her “big long legs”, because she is very tall. During the meeting, her symbolic smile was always on her face, for her relaxed introduction and transition, the meeting went smoothly and she won the best master of the evening, It was the confirmation to her job.
We had four deligent small bees to facilitate the meeting, they were timer April Luo, Grammarian Lizhen, Ah-counter Joan Zhang, Hark master Rachel. Besides, they had other roles, they were very busy the whole night.
Tabel topic section
The first big part was Table Topic speech part, David Yan held this session, the theme was “ Be Comfortable with the Uncomfortable!” David prepared for it seriously, he used PPT and pictures to show the titles, it was impressive.
Evey one including members and gusts can join it, each one had 2 minutes to gave a impromptu speech around the title, related to the theme, then our memebers Lizhen, Fish, Joan and guests Migual, Alex, Rachel participated in this part, and area director Rachel won the best table topic speech, she shared us her studying years in Canada, and told us “ if you want to do sth, just do it, and think it late on, the thing will work out itself.”
For others, they shared their individual stories about how they went out of their comfortable zone, and grew up then, they told us that life was full of uncomfortable things, we should be adapt to them and change ourselves and take action.
For table topic speech session, Sunny Wang fang evaluated it, she picked out the shining points of the speakers and gave advises to them from different aspects, as TTE, she had the ability to summarize in the short time, and she also was very brave, because it was her first time to take the role, big appluses to her.
Prepared Speech Section
The first speaker was Fish, his title was “Tiger Mom”. At first, he said, we were born to play different roles, and his mother’s role was “tiger mom”. His mother was strict to him, all for love, she love her son, and want he had a bright future. His speech was very touched, besides, he delivered it vividly and humorously, like a drama. At the end, he won the best prepared speech, he deserve it.
Louis evaluated Fish’s speech. He noticed Fish’s speech had a key word “role”, and the whole speech was around it, his mother’s role-tiger, and his role-fish, it was a circle, and Fish also used many skills such as role-playing and body language and tool to help his speech. To summarize, Fish’s speech was vivid, and meaningful and well-prepared.
The second speaker was Adrian Wong, his title was “I feel somthing”. Adrian shared with us in a humorous way his challenges chasing after someone in Shenzhen. Even though they are not together, he encourages the audience to accept that when love is lost. It’s lost. It’s time to move on.
Alex Sun evaluated Adrian’s speech, he used “flexible” to discrible Adrian’s speech, from the objective, Adrian made a delf-depreciating joke, and keep us laughing all the time, and we can feel that “chasing girl is a amazing thing”, although sometime it is painful.
The third speaker was Frank, his title was “A tough boss”. His boss was strict and energetic, serious in the work, and want to foster him, the style was tough, but the heart was kind, his boss want to set up a model for him, and gave more chance to him to practise, it was his luck to have such a tough boss.
Vivian Liu evaluated Frank’s speech. She told us that Frank’s boss was a inspiring and coach style leader, Frank’s speech was as smooth as flowing water. On the other hand, she advised him to take role-playing when had conversation with his boss, and made the roles transition more distingushed.
The fouth speaker was Tao, his title was “Mama, I joined TM”, It was his icebreaker speech. As a new father, he was busy. so why he joined TM? Firstly, his work language was English, so he want to practise it, secondly, joining in TM can meet new friends and touch new things, so not only he joined in TM, but also he elected for officer, he is SAA now. As he mentioned, it is lucky to stay with a team of energy and diversity, just say “YES”.
Rachel evaluated Tao’s speech. She encouraged him at first, for the shining sides, his gentle and soft voice and smile all matched his characteristic, the objective was well finished. And she also suggested him to had gustrues, open palm more widely, and have facial expression.
Jeff gave his general evaluaton. He noticed that there were 5 firsts, first time TME-Ree, first time TTM-David, first time TTE-Sunny Wang, first time guest GST-Alex Chen, they were all very brave. And he gave some advises: SAA could be more active to make the atmosphere more warm, President could have more interaction with the audience, Grammarian could remind us to use the new word.
At the mot part, we still had many words and feeling to share, Joan, Rachel, they all shared their feeling and they also served as many roles during the meeting, they were so talktive.
There were also many guests joining the meeting, they even came from Spain and France, and some were from multi-companies, SZTM club becomes more and more international.
