In a world where communication is vital, it is essential for us to have strong speakers to guide and inspire others. In a public speaking club, the role of a mentor is crucial in helping new members develop their skills and confidence.
Those who are skilled in public speaking are like beacons of light, illuminating the path for those who are just beginning their journey. They are the ones who can show us the way, share their knowledge, and provide support and encouragement.
关于头马
头马是 Toastmasters 的中文简称，于 1924 年在美国加州成立。是一个非盈利性的、由会员自行管理的组织，目前已在全球一百多个国家成立了上万个俱乐部。BJADV 头马英语演讲俱乐部属于头马。
Toast 是“举杯祝贺”或“干杯”的意思。在国外宴会中，时常有人端杯对来宾做祝酒词；而 master 意思为“高手”或“大师”。所以，可以把 Toastmaster 从字面理解为“祝酒词大师”，潜在含义是“演讲高手”。在头马，会员可以在活动中锻炼自己的演讲和沟通能力，同时还可在俱乐部中担任管理者，通过各项事务锻炼其领导才能。近一百年来，Toastmasters 中诞生过无数企业高级管理人才、实业家和领导人。
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that builds confidence and teaches public speaking skills through a worldwide network of clubs that meet online and in person. In a supportive community or corporate environment, members prepare and deliver speeches, respond to impromptu questions, and give and receive constructive feedback. It is through this regular practice that members are empowered to meet personal and professional communication goals. Founded in 1924, the organization is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado with approximately 270,000 members in more than 14,200 clubs in 148 countries.
SZTM 发展历史
SZTM is the first English Toastmaster club in Shenzhen, with a history of 20 years, and is currently one of the most active clubs in Shenzhen. The regular meeting is held every Tuesday night from 7:00 to 9:30.
In SZTM, we deliver 2-7 mins speeches at regular meetings; we enjoy beautiful sceneries and delicious cuisine by traveling; we showcase our talents at speech contest and annual party. Through this activities, we go out, build, write, talk, teach, explain, and create. These effortful actions lead to communication growth and human-touching connection.
