The case of the missing photo

TTM Danny turned Table Topics into a full detective game: the club’s group photo had been “stolen,” and the room had to find the thief. Everyone got a suspect card (well, almost everyone, someone had to apologize to Tao for forgetting his). The ending landed the twist: everyone was the thief, and the answer was “together” — we found the photo together, and the fun along with it. Danny explained his design afterwards: he’d first wanted to build a detective game, then thought of the missing item as the club’s group photo, got stuck on who the thief should be, and finally realized that we’d found the picture together, and found the fun along with it, so the ending became “together.”

The reviews were immediate: people asked how on earth he’d come up with that ending, calling it stunning and completely unexpected; one called the design tightly interlocked, with an ending that tied straight back to the club; another said Danny clearly had too many hidden talents. And a warning shot for the future: the pressure was now squarely on whoever runs Table Topics next week.

The poster easter egg

The meeting poster wrote the number 1028 as 0x404, hexadecimal for 1028, and also the web’s “404 Not Found,” a nod to a Sherlock with no case to solve.

Prepared speeches

Jason delivered “阿玛的情书 (love letter)” and Min spoke on “Trust Your Inner Voice.”

A new member, on the spot

Mini joined the club that evening, membership fee paid before the room emptied. The officers’ verdict afterwards: a high-quality meeting naturally draws in people who are on the same wavelength, and a hopeful thought that maybe SZTM was on its way back to its peak.

The Word of the Day, “radiant,” outlived the meeting — the group chat spent the next morning finding excuses to use it on each other.
