The invitation

Dear Toastmasters & Friends, Welcome back from holiday!

Who should pay for the bill?

20 years ago in China, men paid for everything. But now things are changing. Both men and women work and earn money outside. And we are in a time when the western culture is well combined into Chinese society. We see less men fighting to pay for the bill in restaurants. People, male and female, young and old, rich and poor, believe “Go Dutch” is the best solution for group entertainments. However, should lovers and couples “Go Dutch” too? If you were a girl, would you be happy if you are asked to pay for yourself when you go on a date? If you were a man, would you feel unfaire if you are expected to pay everything for girls?

Come to join this hot discussion in our next Meeting on Oct 7th! In this meeting, we will have 2 prepared speakers. Tammy Tan, our Secretary and lovely girl. After giving her first speech, this meeting she will deliver her Project 2 speech “Poor and Rich”. Jessica Zhang, our active member and elegant lady. Also, she will show her Project 2 speech. And our Sarah will Share how to get 10 goals for our distinguished club in Development Session. Let us expect their brilliant speech!: )

Cheers,

Written up afterwards

Dear members and friends, We had a brilliant meeting on Oct 7th!

For the Table Topic session, Emily chose a brilliant table topic: Who should pay for the bill? She prepared 1-4 questions for gentlemen and A-E questions for ladies. That is a nice idea. Of course, we need the creative thought! Our members and friends are eager to join in this discussion. So we have 8 speakers in this session, such as Koby, Jennifer, Michael, Apple, William, Jessica, Judy and me. Wonderful memory for us! Thank you, Emily! For the Development session, our Sarah shared how to get 10 goals for our distinguished club.

Officers and members, we need to follow Sarah’s instructions to be distinguished club again! Come on! Thank you, Sarah! For the Prepared Speech session, we have two prepared speakers Jessica and Tammy in the same project 2. Also they did very well. Do you know how to pass a ball? That is Jessica’s speech. When we just thought about pass a ball in sport, she gave us a surprise and talked about training. What is training?… Training make them think… I am still thinking about it. Thank Jessica for bringing us to think!

Do you love Tammy’s speech” Poor and Rich”? Sure, we loved it. From the question “Do you think you are rich? “, Tammy started her speech. She led us to explore the meaning of life from her thought and experience. She shared her happiness and rich life with us and led us to think more… Well done, Jessica and Tammy. For the Evaluation session, our Michael and Koby gave kind and friendly feedback and suggestion to our prepared speakers. Thank you, Michael and Koby! Judy and Jasmin had explored their new roles GE and TME.

We must say that you were so natural and fluent in the two new roles. You made the meeting well and smoothly. Well done, Judy and Jasmin! Our kind guests Mirra, Jenny and William as Ah-Counter and Timer, you did them well! Thank you, Mirra, Jenny and William! Join more, and learn more. Shenzhen Toastmasters club is not only for learning communication and leadership skills, but also for leading us to think well. I am getting colorful thoughts and ideas for our fellow members and kind guests. Thank you, my fellow members and kind guests! Hope you have a brilliant life! Brilliant was my word of day as Grammarian in last meeting.: ) Best regards, Sun Zhang
