The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

As our president Strong Zheng had emergencyto deal with, he was late for the meeting, so superman man Koby representedStrong to do opening remark.

I liked his ‘CLOTH’ point of view about toastmasters, ‘C’ means communication, ‘L’ means leadership for service others, ‘O’ means overcome ourselves, ‘T’ means teach, ‘H’ means happiness, toastmasters is really that kind of place.

a ceremony was held by our VPM Lancy, we all felt excited becausewe got a new member Penny to join our big family.

Shenzhen Toastmasters club 386th thmeeting was convened on Tuesday Jul.5, 2014. it was a amazing meeting. Here were the wonderful moments in the meeting.

Before the meeting, our SAA Frederic Fang, the first time to be SAA, gave us original opening and told the meeting rulesclearly, he really did a good job!

As our president Strong Zheng had emergencyto deal with, he was late for the meeting, so superman man Koby representedStrong to do opening remark. Koby always impressed audiences by his profoundknowledge and experience.

Lancy Lai, VPM, was the first time to betoastmaster of the evening, but she was a excellent master, she knew how tocontrol time, how to make the transition smooth, how to cheer people up. thatwas what we need.

The facilitators team did a great job, Ah-counter Float introduced the rules veryclear, timer Julie really made a big step, grammarian Hill was always full ofenergy, his powerful voice warmed up atmosphere here.

Table topic master Read brought aimaginative topic: light, there are many kinds of light in our world, we couldtalk many romantic stories related to light. His performance was tactful. Therewere eight people come to stage to deliver impromptu speeches, as follow: Danielle, LJ, Siman, Koby, Hill, Nick, Michael, Donnya. They all shared theirstories about light, pretty good!

The table topic evaluator is Maxwell Lee, he is old friend, he gave TTM Read a very usefull suggestion that try to makethe transition quicker, and gave the speakers detail evaluations. He is aresponsible man alway help people to grow up in toastmaster. We should learnfrom him.

It was honor to invite a experienced memberSteven Su who had joined toastmasters for 15 years to deliver a workshop speech‘why we need to join toastmasters’ for us, when he came up to stage, we canfeel his power, his own experience proved that toastmasters is place we couldlearn in it, we could have fun in it. I liked his ‘CLOTH’ point of view abouttoastmasters, ‘C’ means communication, ‘L’ means leadership for service others,‘O’ means overcome ourselves, ‘T’ means teach, ‘H’ means happiness, toastmasters is really that kind of place.

next was the prepared speech section, thefirst speaker was our gorgeous lady Shelley Choi, she delivered her CC3 speech, title was workaholic, sheshared her recent situation, busy with her work and no time to enjoy life, thissituation remained her to pay more attention to keep balance between life andwork. Impressive.

I was really proud that our club got morethan 15 guests every meeting, thanks to all the guests, welcome to join ourmeeting next time.

After ashort break, a ceremony was held by our VPM Lancy, we all felt excited becausewe got a new member Penny to join our big family. For toastmasters, where thereis a will there is a way.

The last prepared speaker was Demi Ye, shewas beautiful lady, she delivered her CC5 speech, title was those either orsituation. She taught us how to make a choice, did not list the advantages ordisadvantages to calculate which one was better, just followed your heart, asked yourselves who you wanted to be. It was a great lesson for us.

The next section was evaluation forspeakers, the first one is Koby, he evaluated Shelley’s speech, it wasenjoyment for listening to koby’s evaluation, humorous, intelligent andimpressive.

The nextevaluator was Jack, a experienced toastmaster from Malaysia. I was shock by hisevaluation, he evaluated Demi without script, his body language was vivid, andthe suggestions for Demi were precise and professional. Excellent evaluator.

Last, our IPP Hellen Duan gave her generalevaluation for the whole meeting, very detailed evaluation, we believed that wewill become better and better.

In order to encourage members to take partin our meeting frequently, we set a award for the most active members. In July, we got five members to win the award, they were Nick Gong, Read Wang, MichaelLiu, Lancy Lai, Hill He. Hope more members can get this award.

At the end of the meeting, three best speaker were voted by audiences, best tabletopic speaker came to Siman, best prepared speech speaker came to Shelly Choi, best evaluator came to Jack, congratulation to them. That was the excitingmoments in 386th meeting, welcome to join our next meeing, see you!
