Waiting

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

Michael ran into a tough topic this time, he was asked if he was waiting for his baby coming out, what feeling he would have. He didn’t answer the question directly, but sharing his feeling about waiting his son to grow up.

Louis thought that waiting is not always good. He shared a story of his childhood. When he was a little boy, he was too shy to express his thoughts, so that he was always waiting for things to happen, which made him feel so terrible at that time.

Dear Fellow Members and Distinguished Guests, On 16th, June. We will have the exciting time of the SZTM 430th meeting. Theme: WaitingIn this era of fast rhythm, we don’t want to wait, because time is money. But we are always waiting, waiting for others to help us, waiting for the housing price to calm down, etc. If you have some words to say, come and join the table topic session.1CC5: Keep youngIvy is a happy ‘girl’, everybody thinks she was born in 1990s, actually she has a son who is more than 3 years old. I asked her how she could keep such young face. Her answer was: secret. In this speech, Ivy will share us her secret to keep young.2Workshop: The pancakeAll of us come to Toastmasters to improve our public speaking skills and leadership skills. I dare we have similar experience, when the table topic master asked: “Who want to be the next?”, our heart beated so fast, we wanted to raise your hand, but we didn’t.

Sarah He, our District 89’s governor, and also a member of SZTM, in her workshop, she will encourage us to discover our source of courage. Come to learn from the seasoned Toastmaters. We are looking forward to meet you.

After waiting for a week, we had our SZTM regular meeting this Tuesday. This week, our theme was Waiting. Time flows away easily, so we are all living a rush life. We are too busy to enjoy the scenery or wait for some people. However, waiting is not always waste of time. Sometimes when you have a really exhausted day, maybe your only need is to slow down and wait for the right thing or the right person.

On our 430th meeting, there were 7 speakers sharing their stories about waiting in the Table Topic Session. Koby told us a story about kid can’t wait for too long even if there are more benefits for them. By using this story, he wanted to tell us, sometimes we should wait for our success, because enough patience is necessary, which can help us to get the long-term reward. On the contrary, Louis thought that waiting is not always good. He shared a story of his childhood. When he was a little boy, he was too shy to express his thoughts, so that he was always waiting for things to happen, which made him feel so terrible at that time. He emphasized that the active action is important, especially when we really want something. Alicia shared with us her romantic story about waiting her Mr Right. In the Prepared Speech Session, Ivy shared with us her secret about Keeping Young. Ivy is a happy ‘girl’, everybody thought she was born in 90s. Actually she has a son who is more than 3 years old. She told us the secret to keep young is caring more about your inside rather than the outside. What you feel is more important than what you look like. Besides, good habits and regular skin protection is also helpful to keep young. Her impressive speech provided us lots of useful suggestions on keeping young.

Sarah He, our District 89’s governor, also a member of SZTM, brought us her workshop this Tuesday. She encouraged us to discover our source of courage. Her speech’s title was The Pancake. She said if we want to be better ourselves, we should always stay hungry and then figure out our Pancakes. The Pancakes are everywhere in our life and we should keep the faith to find them and also insist on finishing them. More cares about our dreams, more benefits we will get. So we should try more, ‘Eat more Pancakes!’

Like the beginning said, time flows away easily, especially happy hours. But good things deserve us to wait, right? We’ll see you next Tuesday in Shenzhen Toastmaster Club. We’ll wait for your moment! See ya!!
