465th Meeting

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

Cherry could be read by him as “Charlie”, Edward can be pronounced as “Ed-Wang”. Those were really humorous moments!

He was also sensitive to making us happy by pointing out that Koby changed the style by wearing a pair of long pants and a pair of formal shoes.

Did you remember there was a scene that one “sister” pushed her down to the floor? That was the one of the best parts.

Where there is a will, there is a way. And If you have a will to have fun together with a group of positive friends, then you should never miss the regular meeting held by Shenzhen Toastmasters Club(SZTM). Everybody there seems to turn the meeting room to be a sea of happiness. What’s more, it is not only just for fun, but also for learning. In an environment that everybody speaks English, how can you refuse it if you devote yourself to be a good English-learner? Gone is the latest meeting on the day of 12th, Jan. While, the excitement around it would never fade away. Some shinning stars and some memorable moments in that special meeting are really carved in our minds.

Somebody would never predict that Steven Su would be the Toastmasters of Evening. But this actual happened. Steven insisted on his style to appear in time, no one minute earlier, neither no one minute latter. It seemed that at the beginning he looked like a little hurried. While, latter, he became to show his humors to everybody. Cherry could be read by him as “Charlie”, Edward can be pronounced as “Ed-Wang”. Those were really humorous moments! However, He was also sensitive to making us happy by pointing out that Koby changed the style by wearing a pair of long pants and a pair of formal shoes. According to the performances of Steven, I think, not only Steven enjoyed himself, but he leaded us to enjoy ourselves. Steven was the first shinning star to produce the happiness.

The second star should come to the Table Topic Master - Michelle Ye. Nobody could ever think SHAPES as a theme, but she really did. That was very an innovative idea. Through all kinds of shapes (like Circle, Square or Triangle), she prompts the table topic speakers to use their imaginations. If we say, table topics need immediate response. Topics under this theme were really Thrilling and Exciting!

Prepared speech session was the shinning part for the prepared speakers. At least, 2 speakers, Stella Cen and Eric Liang stood out.

With a lovely face, even Stella just stood on the stage; it could be very beautiful scenery. However, you may be wondering more, like why her oral English could also have such typical and beautiful British accents and why she was able to be a good speaker in a short period. But Stella really was good and she deserved to be excellent. In her speech, she showed her love to her sisters by using kinds of emotions. Did you remember there was a scene that one “sister” pushed her down to the floor? That was the one of the best parts.

Eric was never an easy speaker. He used his own experience to make a speech. Change, Yes or No? Even parts of us never liked changes and the basic fact was we had to and we should be willing to do that as well. Never late to make changes. Based on this idea, Eric chose to learn English to change a job and take a management position, joined TM to practice leadership and added his value to the surroundings. Life could be a mirror and Eric’s actual life stories should be the most useful experiences we could learn.

In the evaluation session, Lilian Zeng, the rising star, impressed us very much. Her voice was clear and loud this time. Meanwhile, her movements and gestures on the stage were becoming more various. But more than that, her smiles was still the secret weapon, which made all the audience fed with laughter and joys.

Decorated by the stars, the sky would never be dark. And with the performances from the shinning stars of SZTM, joys were spreading. Did you feel that?
