513th Meeting Review

Do you guys have any idea about DTM? It is super honorable to be a member of DTM in Toast Master Club, which means ‘Distinguished Toast Master’

Workshop

We had a wonderful and meaningful workshop presented by our DTM Sarah He——The difference makes difference.

‘What’s your intention to be here?’ questioned by Sarah He at the beginning of her speech.

She asked three different groups: the guests, the members within 1 year, and the member more than three years. Different group of people had different answers. They wanted to learn English, share experience, meet more friends and learn from each other.

Then Sarah shared her 9 years’ journey in TM. eing just a member in the beginning, she later changed her mind and decided to take the role as a president of a club after a cup of tea with the previous president. And next she became the governor of district 89. During different periods, she grew step by step. She emphasized on passion with five different aspects: vision, mission, ambition, role and intention. Find your differences and remember that every little difference would make big difference!

Apart from workshop, we had two prepared speeches today. Prepared Speech

Speaker1 Crystal Chen & Evaluator Dudu Tang Zuo or die? We all know ‘no zuo do die’, but do you agree with it? Before she started her speech, she did a survey on how many of us agreed with this sentence. This interaction was very interesting. Later she set examples of our familiar TM friends Carol ban, Uncle Eric and CherryZhang. Many of people around us have achieved great achievements in their own field but they still want to leave their comfortable zone to make themselves better. Like Crystal, being a teacher in New Oriental, she had many holidays and benefits. But she quited. She decided to have further education. Wonderful speech! Like evaluator Dudu said, she dared not to make comments on such a professional teacher, but one suggestion for Crystal’s speech was time management.

Speaker2 Sunny Wang & Evaluator Nick GongBe Myself Graduated in 2012 from Police & Justice University, she could seek a nice job easily, especially being the youngest one in her family, she was always taken good care of by her elder sisters. In Shenzhen, her sister supported her with accommodation and even bank card. Everyone knows well about the high rental payment in Shenzhen. But she asked herself “Do i really want it? ““What my life will be in five years or ten years?”. She gave up these favors provided by her family and decided to do what she like. Now she could live her own life happily. To do what we like and be ourselves! “She had a good stage performance today and the dialogue in her speech is very good point"evaluated by Nick Gong. Also he suggested a better conclusion in her next speech.
