We all want to be humorous, but how？That’s the big dish of tonight, Talis Wong’s workshop-.

527th Meeting ReviewAs you can see from the cover, the big dish of tonight is Talis Wong’s workshop. But let me take you to review the Prepared Speech Session first.

Prepared Speech

CC3-Karry Zhan

Karry used her own story as her opening to attract the audience, and shared the three key skills to improve communication：

1. Specific Language
2. Positive Language
3. Confident Language

CC4-Edwin Dong

Edwin was so humorous on the stage, he told us if you want to practice your public speaking, then there are three steps:

1. Learn English
2. Join the Toastmaster
3. Come to the stage more often

He shared 4 plans in his experience about earning money:

Plan A. Save money, plan a goal and then reach it.

Plan B. Start his own business but failed.
Plan C. Find a good company.
Plan D.God of Sushi.

From his experience he summarized if you want to earn more money, you should:

1. Find right position.
2. Have a clear plan.
3. Persistent to do it.

And also he shared his several stories about the way his friends trying to find true love, but finally he came up – If you make yourself excellent, then the true love will come to you.

He suggested so many great ways to earn money and find true love, but in the end, he shared two problem which can not be solved, there are time and cancer.

CC10-Carol Ban

Carol told us two changes during her president time:

Change 1. Quick Response.

Change 2. If you want to know the problems, used the numbers to evaluate the club, then fix them.

She told us there are some things can never be done, if we don’t do them right now. Her voice was so powerful, after her speech, our beautiful toastmaster Candy decided to run for the next president.

The topic is how to be humorous, so the following question are Why? What? How?

For why:

1. Create a good atmosphere.
2. Take part in contests.
3. Get away from embarrassed.
4. Be different.
5. win a heart.

Evaluation

Brother Eric is always good at encouraging people, at this time, he suggested Karry to focus on one skill, give more information and examples, let audience be impressive.

IE: Nina Lin for Edwin Dong

Nina took us review Edwin’s fantastic speech again, and she said: If you are blooming, the butterfly will come. If you’re not, get down to the floor.

IE: Sarah He for Carol Ban

Carol’s Speech was so motivated, even her IE Sarah also wanted to run for the next president, Sarah said from Carol’s speech, she got a calling from herself, also she hoped each one of us should take the action to do something for yourself and the club.

GE: Louis Liu

As we all know, Louis loves to challenge himself, even this was his first time to be the GE, he still prepared very well, without looking at his note frequently, he told us even the stage was small, but he did make a big different here.

In his conclusion, Toastmaster Candy Lei is a gifted TME just as the President Carol Ban.

And IE bother Eric Liu is an experienced Evaluator. IE Nina Lin is a charming girl, no weakness at all. IE Sarah He is an inspired leader to encourage all of us, her evaluation was not like an evaluation, it’s more like a speech.

For the facilitator Timer Judy Guo, Ah-counter Lvy Du, Grammarian Penney Peng are all responsible.

At last, he said: “this is a small stage, but here we have made so many differents, next officer election will be just as serious as America Election.”

Moment of Truth

Our IPPP Cherry Zhang hosted this session, many people have came to the stage to show their appreciation to Talis’s workshop and every speaker’s performance, we learnt a lot from each speaker.

At Last

Just like our president Carol Ban said: Try to be humorous from what we learnt tonight, they can increase the quality of your life.

And I guess every female audience all want to say this sentence to Talis: “If I were 20 yearsolder, you will be in trouble.” Maybe this also speak out some male audience’s mind.
