Review

Word of day: Resplendent

In this resplendent meeting, we are all very proud to be here, to be the member of Toastmaster. Then you may want to know the reason, Let’s start from the Table Topic Session.

Table Topic Session:

The topic was opportunity, Uncle Eric-as the master of the Table Topic, He really grasped this great opportunity to promote the officer election.

①For the first speaker, Michael Chen, his topic was to make a speech about running for the president. He did a really great job! In his speech, he gave two key reasons:

1. It’s time for man to take power back. (Because the current and previous president are all female, and Donald Trump won the America president.)

2. He wants to devote to the club just as what Uncle Eric had done.

② Cherry Zhang’s topic was to make a speech about running for the VPM(Vice President of Membership), she was so clever to speak to the guest Talia directly, and used her personal story to persuade the guest to join us.

After Cherry sincerely persuaded, Uncle Eric invited the guest Talia surprisingly.

③ Talia had been persuaded to decide to be the member, and she shared what she wanted to gain from ShenZhen Toastmaster.

④ Brother Eric Liu’s topic was to make a speech about running for the VPE(Vice President Education), he shared what he gained from his currently leader journey in his company, when he finished this journey, his boss and followers are all proud of him. So he believes he is capable to be the great leader this time.

⑤ Another guest Bruce was invited to the stage to do the self-introduction and shared the purpose of being here.

⑥ Our Secretary Nina Lin’s topic was the same as Brother Eric’s. She shared her experiences about her Secretary journey, and she thinks as an officer, the job is to help others to grow. So she can do it.

⑦ Our guest Spring said:” when I come to this club, I know more than what I saw.”

⑧ Our VPPR(Vice President of Public Relationship) Ella Peng(it’s me)shared what she gained from the VPPR’s work. She gain friendship, happiness, beauty standard, job opportunity.

⑨The last speaker is our sweet girl Candy Lei, her topic was run for the president, she said she got a call from president, and she is always ready because she always cares our club.

<4 ways to kill your dream>

Michael admitted his title was weird, but his point was practical, he talked about America dream, Chinese dream and Chinese football dream. The 4 ways to kill your dream, they are:

1. Believe we will overnight success.

2. Believe someone can give you the answer for your life.

3. Believe the fault always belong to others.
4. Believe the only thing matter is the dream.

He used his own stories to explained every point, and he said:"No one has a perfect answer for your life." “life is not just about fulfilling your dream."

From Amanda’s stories, all of us saw a strong father, even Amanda didn’t finish her whole stories, but we were touched by her stories, and Amanda also learned to be brave to challenging herself.

CC2-Rex Zhou

Rex told us two stories, one was his personal story about a trip organized by his company, another was French army. From his stories, we can see some weaknesses:

1. Stand on our side
2. Always convince others we are right.

In the end, we knew, don’t always criticize, stand on the others position, be empathy.

Evaluation Session: TTE: Michael Liu

Michael admired Uncle Eric very much, he thought the Table Topic Session is not a TableTopic Session this time, it’s totally a promotion. And as a master of TableTopic, Uncle Eric let 3 new potential members be involved.

In Michael’s mind, every speaker did a great job, mading the whole meeting resplendent.

In David’s point of view, Michael’s speech has very clear outline, let audience easy to follow, In the end David asked us a rough question, how to realize our dreams before they haven’t been killed?

Cherry saide:” Because of Amanda, tonight became resplendent. From Amanda’s speech, we knew why she has the sense of secure, it’s because she has a strong father behind. And her quite sincerely stories inspired every audience here. "

The speech not only attracts audience’s attention, also attract audience’s hearts. Eric thought Rex is confident, and have strong, clear logical mind, achieved CC1 and CC2’s objectives in one speech.

GE: Elly Zheng

This was her first time to be the GE, she did it very well.

In her opinion:

SAA-Ella Peng: she hasn’t joined our meeting for a long time, it seems she forgot most of the rules.

WUG-Carol Ban: Played a useful game.

TME-DuduTang: Experienced, an good actress.

Timer-Sunny wang: Professional, practice makes perfect.

AH-Counter-Coco Zhou: Brave to take this role at first time.

Grammarian-Michelle Yang: Next time should write down the word of day on the white board.

GST-Stephen Chen: Too happy, should restrain the excitement.

TTE-Michael Liu: Experienced, but should speak quicker next time.

IE-Uncle Eric& Cherry Zhang: Super star.

IE-David Xing: Made a big progress on the stage, but next time should speak quicker.

Moment of Truth:

Renia Chen hosted this session, and grasped this chance to share her feeling of this meeting. Also Uncle Eric emphasized election again. Michael is just back from Indian, he shared his appreciation to be the member in Toastmaster. All in all,we are all very proud to be here, to be the member of Toastmaster.
