561st Meeting
The 561st meeting opened with a warm up game of hugs led by Dudu, and grammarian Michael Chen introduced the word of the night, 'hygge,' using the actor Hu Ge's name as a memory aid. In the English speech contest that followed, Ivy You gave her ice breaker on sticking with English learning, and Louis Liu demonstrated how to strike up a conversation with a stranger by inviting a guest on stage.
The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:
Michael Liu showed us how he convinced his girlfriend and her family in spring festival and spent the special spring festival with them. we laughed at least 6 times during his speech
toastermaster just like a garden, and so many flowers and grass there, we got sunflower, like Sunny Wang, and we got lotus too, like Danielle Ouyang and Yoki Zhang, we also got grass like David Xing.

Our meeting began with a warming and interesting game called “Hugs”, we used to played it and it was really a good way to get closer with each other, all of us felt more relaxed. thanks our Dudu.
Our grammarian Michael Chen showed us the word of this meeting,”Hygge”we seldom saw this word, in order to make it easier to remember, he used the popular Chinese actor Hu Ge’s name as a reference. Such a creative idea!
English speech contest
Ivy You did her ice breaking speech, she shared her story about continuing to keep learning English, we were really encouraged by her insistence. And we believe Toastermaster is a good place to stick to English learning.
Allen Peng introduced four ways to catch the oppotunity and he really got to that point.
Karry Zhan shared her collegue’s story and implied the theme, to be the best of yourself.
Michael Liu showed us how he convinced his girlfriend and her family in spring festival and spent the special spring festival with them. we laughed at least 6 times during his speech, and we couldn’t wait to listen to the following of Micheal Liu’s love story.
Louis Liu taught us how to make friends with strangers, and he invited a girl of our guest tonight, showed us how to start a conversation.
Evaluation
Our GE Brother Eric said, toastermaster just like a garden, and so many flowers and grass there, we got sunflower, like Sunny Wang, and we got lotus too, like Danielle Ouyang and Yoki Zhang, we also got grass like David Xing. What an amazing metaphor.

After Dudu told us the results, Brother Eric was named “Mr.Always by cute lilian, because he can always win the best prize. Congratulations to all winners.
