Apr 13th meeting was really wonderful. We had 7 speeches on the meeting which totally made our day marvelous. Let me show you~~

Prepared SpeechSection

Sandy Zhang gave her first speech ‘Loving life’. Jane Yang said Hello to the world with her speech. Talia Chen gave a remarkable address on the meeting with the title “She”. Kevin Wei shared the stories about his career which was really touching.

Rania analyzed a very heating topic “Bicycle-sharing”. Candy Yang gave you some tips on managing “the small mood”. Lila Liang made a keynote to inspire the audience, “Original Dream”.

EvaluationSection

After the meeting break, we had our evaluators Louis Liu, Eva Chen, Michelle Yang, David Xing, Carol Ban, Vivi Xie, Star Ji(from CEO) and Allen Peng(GE) prensented the wonderful comments on the speeches.

Their encouragement and trust manifestly make a difference.

Shenzhen Toastmasters Club

Brief Introduction

Shenzhen Toastmasters Club was chartered on Sep 08, 2003 with 14-year history, which is the first Toastmasters club in Shenzhen.

In the past 14 years, we have had difficult time, struggling to recruit new members to keep our 20 headcount bottom line, and we even suspended regular meetings in 2012.

Since 2014 we were getting better, from then on, we become stronger and stronger. Now our club has the most members in Shenzhen, which attracts 10 to 20 or even more guests. We are well-known by members and guests for our warm and energetic meeting atmosphere.

Till now, our meeting number has reached 565. In this membership renewal season, our turnover rate was 20%, and from this Mar to date, we recruited 6 new members, plus 2 past members reinstated their membership. Such a great momentum, I’m so proud of being a member in Shenzhen Toastmasters club.

We now like a blooming flower, attracting lots of bees. How wonderful we are! Do you want to know the secret?

1 Supportive Official Team

We have a supportive official team. The team dedicated themselves to run the club smoothly. Monthly exco-meeting addresses recent hot issues of the club, such as brain storming how to improve meeting quality; how to bond the members together; how to take effective actions, etc. All of them enabled our club runs well.

Besides, we have a strong Past President team, till now, the 4 consecutive past presidents participate in meetings actively, and proactively take the role as mentors for new members, giving advices to current official team. They are Michael Liu, Eric Liang, Cherry Zhang, Carol Ban. Personally I think this is one of the core reason why our club becomes better and better.

2 Warm Meeting

Every member is willing to act as SAA. When you enter in our meeting room, you feel like coming back home. We never let you feel alone, we proactively greet you friendly. From the beginning of the meeting to the end of the meeting, it is joyful and meaningful.

3 Talented Members

There are lot of talents in our club. We have several professional English teachers, we have several members who used to studied or worked abroad, we have several company leaders or creators~each member contributed every high quality meeting, so guests want to join us to be one of us, talented people attracts talented people, just like the Mathew effect.

4 Special Activities

We organize at least twice funny outings per half year, and warm special meeting for annual event, by which strengthen the relationship in the club members.

5 Colorful Training

Provide additional free training opportunity eg inviting not only seniors but also famous toastmasters to conduct workshops to help members develop public speaking skill, evaluation skill, writing skill, as well as to attract new members.
