567th Meeting

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

her boy used to be so scared from preventative injection that she usually needs help from four adult to keep him firm for injection. Her boy’s behavior reminds her how important a Tick is.

When he read the beautiful poet, we are all quite and immersed in his voice.

The 567th meeting took place on Apr. 25th. Did you miss the wonderful meeting because of the heavy rain or busy work? This is our meeting review for that day.

Prepared Speech Section

Tiffany Xiao—CC1My Voluntourism Experience

Tiffany Xiao presented her ice breaker speech named My Voluntourism Experience. In her speech, she explains that voluntoursim means providing volunteer activity during traveling to an alien place. Her experience is to teach in Orphanage in a remote village in Thailand. She elaborates how she feel that kids there are eager for love. She is deeply impressed by an Orphan named Nod. The eyes full of desire for love have been lingering around on Tiffany’s mind after she returned to China from her voluntrousim trip. Finally, she made up her mind to quit current job to rejoin the Voluntoursim Project. She has kind and positive mind. We give a big applause for her encouragement.

Derek Zeng —CC1Reboot

Derek Zeng gives his ice breaker speech as well. He introduced himself as a boy born with Music. He likes Singing and is so addicted to it. And when he was young he was dreaming to stand in from of crowd and sing and talk. Now his dream has come true as Toastmaster has provided him such a wonderful platform. He feels free and confident on the stage. What a joyful moment for him!

Scarlett He—CC1Smoking

Ice breaker speech of Scarlett She is to call for non-smoking action. Quit smoking and make a better world for us, for our children and our children’s children. She has clearly delivered her message and good will to all of us.

Selina Yuan—CC4

On Carrying Through Self-discipline

Selina Yuan gives her CC4 speech named on Carrying Through Self-discipline. She started from her experience in following a popular TV show named In Name of People. She is so addicted to the show she could watch TV non stop at weekend. As a result, her neck is dizzy as she keeps same gesture for considerable period of time. It further brings a series problem and disorder her normal routine. She concludes that time management is very important in daily life and self-discipline to strictly follow time management is pretty important.

Judy Guo—CC6√ or X

Judy Gao gives her CC6 speech named Tick (a sign of good) vs X (a sign of bad). She started from her young boy who did well in a preventative injection without crying because her boy cares about a tick from Parents/ adults. Actually her boy used to be so scared from preventative injection that she usually needs help from four adult to keep him firm for injection. Her boy’s behavior reminds her how important a Tick is. She realizes adults need Tick ( a sign of encouragement) as well. However, in our life, many of times, we receive X (cross, a sign of discouragement). That is why she comes to Toastmaster so often because Toastmasters always gives encouragement to fellows. (here is applause and laughter)

Dudu Tang—CC9Why President

President Dudu Tang present her speech with name of Why President. With her charming high pitch tone, Dudu express her idea for why she come to toastmaster and what help her run for presidency election. From her bottom of heart, it is needs to improve, it is needs to shape a better Dudu Tang. Her speech is inspiring so much that at the end of the meeting lots of fellows want to submit application for next presidency election.

Michael Liu’s speech Reading: a way to the inner Peace.

When he read the beautiful poet, we are all quite and immersed in his voice. Obviously the power of reading has reach all the soul of audience.

Evaluation Section

Danelle has prepared a very detailed evaluation for Dudu Tang’s speech. She pointed out though the speech is excellent, however there are ways to improve, such as high pitch tone should has been adjusted to an up-and –down curve.

Cherry gives constructive suggest to Michael Liu’s speech. that is to engage audience, to take care the response of audience and further introduce how reading leads people to inner peace.
