We held our first meeting in the second half of this year. There were 24 members and 16 guests showing up on 4th July 2017. The meeting room appeared a little crowded as usual.

The Theme for Tonight

The theme of tonight was giving a lesson to yourself assumed when you were 18 years old.

Our table topic master selected a very interesting and imaginable topic. Melissa as a musical teacher, Sean Gao as a foreign language teacher, Eva Chen as a history teacher, Koby Sa as a philosophy teacher, Sophie as a P.E. (physical education) teacher, Echo Xiao as a fine & arts teacher, Martin as a physiology teacher, Sandy Zhang as a Chinese teacher and Echo Wang as a headmaster, respectively rushed to give their excellent table topic speeches.

Workshop

The next session came the sensational, overwhelming and stirring workshop by Wang Wei, who was the silver medal winner of mandarin speech contest of 89th district in Guangzhou Summit 2017. Wenzel Woo, one of our distinguished members, honestly invited him to visit our club and he gladly accepted it and presented us a wonderful and wholehearted workshop entitled ‘To be Better a Little, To be further a Little’.

Prepared Speech

Our novice ‘senior driver’ David Xing delivered his second-round CC2 entitled ‘SMART Your New-year’s Resolutions and Insist on Making Them Happen’ and reminded us that action speaks louder than any SMART resolutions; our diligent fellow member Danielle Ouyang delivered her adv.9.1 speech entitled ‘The Power of Speaking’, all of us experienced her speaking power and therefore she won the best prepared speech award.

As the evaluators, Louis Liu and Eva Chen, Michael Liu gave their appropriate and detailed evaluations respectively for the table topic speakers and prepared topic speakers. As the facilitators, Talia Chen and Sophia Zheng, Allen Peng distributed their brief reports respectively of the timer, the ah-counter and the grammarian. As is well known, SZTM is an amazing and motivated atmosphere where competent communicators and prominent leaders are made.

Koby’s excellent general evaluation won him warmly applause several times and won dual awards of best evaluator and best table topic speaker even though he evaluated a little much more on prepared speakers’ performance not on that of prepared speeches’ evaluators and even though Eva Chen eagerly looked forward to his general evaluation on her individual evaluation on David’s prepared speech.

In the end our president, Eva Chen, invited Eric Liang to confer Sunny Wang, Sandy Zhang and etc. eight members the full attendance awards of last month. She also invited Koby to confer Sharon and ect. five persons the best performance awards of that evening.
