Twenty-nine members and eight guests gathered for SZTM's 579th meeting on 11 July 2017, opened with a group dance led by president Eva Chen. Table topics master Koby Sa had volunteers act out jobs and feelings through body language, and Joan Zhang, Scarlett He, Wenzel Woo and Martin Zhan delivered prepared speeches, with Wenzel Woo using visual aids while the room was dark.
The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:
Have you ever heard a different introduction of the facilitator’s rules in one song? Our timer Dreck Zeng differently did so and the audience laughed and applauded loudly.
Have you ever differently delivered your prepared topic speech in the darkness? Wenzel Woo did so and correctly used visual aids with confidence and ease.
David asked the audience whether they would like to listen to his evaluation for Wenzel also in the darkness. If so, the audience couldn’t see his carefully prepared visual aids for the evaluation.

Led by our proactive president, Eva Chen, all fellow members and guests danced together. So hot a passionate dance! There were 29 members and 8 guests showing up on 11th July 2017.
Table Topic
This meeting’s theme was ‘try to be a different you’. Have you ever heard a different introduction of the facilitator’s rules in one song? Our timer Dreck Zeng differently did so and the audience laughed and applauded loudly.
As the table topic master, our venerable superstar, Koby Sa, made the audience laugh and applaud again and again and again. He required every invitee to use body language to express one kind of job, animal, feeling and other stance, movement, gesture, facial expression, eye contact.
Prepared Speech
In the prepared speech session, our fellow member Joan Zhang delivered her CC2 speech entitled ‘Keep Being Special’, our fellow member Scarlett He her CC3‘6+18=1?’
Our fellow member Wenzel Woo his CC8 ‘The Best Thing in the World’, and Martin Zhan also delivered his speech “Are You a Filial Child?’ All of them were definitely different prepared topic speakers, weren’t they? Have you ever differently delivered your prepared topic speech in the darkness? Wenzel Woo did so and correctly used visual aids with confidence and ease.
Guest Sharing
Among the guests were two cute kids, one beautiful fair lady and one little young man. The atmosphere of our 579th meeting preliminarily culminated in the warm-up game.
Evaluation
As the evaluators, Michael Liu and Allen Peng, Eva Chen, David Xing, Dudu Tang, Talia Chen gave their elaborate and meticulous evaluations respectively for the table topic and prepared topic speakers. David asked the audience whether they would like to listen to his evaluation for Wenzel also in the darkness. If so, the audience couldn’t see his carefully prepared visual aids for the evaluation. Visual aids are a double-edged sword. They can not only do help you but do harm to you as well.
