581st Meeting
This recap of SZTM's 581st meeting, the last one in July, also carried a notice for a Saturday outing at Xiangmi Lake Park with food, games and KTV. Twenty-five members and three guests attended, including new members Nathan Zhang and Martin Zhan, and table topics master David King had six speakers improvise stories from randomly drawn settings and situations. Sandy Zhang, Louis Liu, Edwin Dong and past president Carol Ban gave prepared speeches, with Carol delivering an advanced speech on being a good saleswoman.

We held our last meeting of July. There were 25 members and 3 guests showing up on the big day—25th, July 2017. Including our two new members, Nathan Zhang and Martin Zhan. Fervently welcome them!
Our famous‘brother’, Eric Liu, gave us an amazing picture of five elements. According to him, fire stands for acceptance, earth self-esteem, metal gratitude, water courage and wood freedom.
He led us read loudly, move rapidly and wash brains wholly. Accompanying by the movements and in the laughing voices the atmosphere of this routine meeting was warmed-up gradually.
Table Topic
Our table topic master, David King, asked the speakers to greatly apply their imagination to tell others’(drawn by a lot) stories under two conditions, where and what to do (also drawn by a lot respectively).
Six table topic speakers had to imagine the when, why and how in order to create a complete story about others. David said to all the potential impromptu story-tellers when he/she told other’s stories, the more sensational (the word of tonight), the better.
Prepared Speech
One of our beauties, Sandy Zhang, delivered her CC4 speech entitled ‘Manage Your Time Better’. Our proactive professor, Louis Liu, the second time delivered his CC4 speech entitled ‘Think Twice’. Our humorous thinker, Edwin Dong, delivered his CC7 speech entitled ‘Better Understanding to Make a Better World’. And one of our influential past presidents, Carol Ban, delivered her Adv1.1 speech entitled ‘How to Be a Good Saleswoman’. Wenzel Woo voluntarily acted as her patient and considerate customer.
Guest Sharing
Evaluation
As the evaluators, Sophia Zheng and Kevin Wei, Wenzel Woo, Eva Chen and Sunny Wang gave their independent evaluations respectively for the table topic and prepared topic speakers.
As the facilitators, Coco Zhou, Sunny Tan and Allen Peng distributed their brief reports respectively of the timer, the ah-counter and the grammarian.
Koby’s vivid general evaluation won him warmly applause many more times as usual. In fact, our dear ‘Grandpa’ Koby had been teaching us how to use body language appropriately.
Body language is an important part of speaking because it enhances our message and gives us more credibility. Koby used body language smoothly and naturally and set up one of the best examples for us
In the end, our president, Eva Chen, invited Carol Ban to confer Edwin Dong, Eric Liu, Dudu Tang and Koby Sa, and etc. the best performance awards of this happy and wonderful meeting.
