Where and when Grandpa Koby appears, where and when applauses and laughs will ring.

He spoke like a powerful machine gun.

August 29th

Have you still been excited by the Chinese Valentine’s Day on 28th Aug. 2017? Wow, the 587th regular meeting of SZTM was coming on the next day. There were 22 members and 6 guests showing up on 29th Aug,2017. Welcome Wilson Liao to join our club as a new member. He has made a great determination.

Warm-up Session

In the warm-up session, Nathan Zhang passionately warmed up the atmosphere through an inspiring game: he needed two groups, each group had two members. One member used body language to express according to the given pictures, the other guessed what the message was. The group which got the higher scores would win the game. Eva Chen and Eric Liu, Koby Sa and KC, Kin-Ching Tang, respectively set up a team Double E and KFC. The wit of Double E vied with that of KFC. The sagacity of KFC competed with that of Double E. What a heady game!

Table Topic

The table topic was about single. Hosted by the table topic toastmaster Sharon Woo.

♛ What is the best thing when you were single?
❄ What is the worst thing then?

❖ What makes the huge amount of singles in big cities?

❀Why do we call singles ‘single dogs’not ‘single rabbits’, ‘single cats’or ‘single pigs’?

Eva Chen and Sunny Wang, Eric Liu, Carol Ban, Koby Sa, Wilson White, Wilson Xu, Martin Zhan, Rania Chen, Nathan Zhang shared their opinions. Where and when Grandpa Koby appears, where and when applauses and laughs will ring. Marvelous phenomenon!

Workshop

Then DTM Kin-Ching Tang, who was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Singapore and spent one year on exchange in Shanghai and masters three foreign languages, delivered us an excellent workshop on crafting evaluations. He spoke like a powerful machine gun. How to evaluate? What to evaluate? He introduced us the four-box method, a deviation from the sandwich method. He told us that:

1. Don’t repeat the content; Focus on the evaluation.

2. Good is not good enough; Say why it is good.

3. Don’t be critical; Be critical. As he said, a great evaluation made the world a better place, a great evaluation made an excellent club. All of us benefited from his workshop.

Prepared Speech

Afterwards Talia Chen delivered her CC6 prepared speech entitled ‘Not to be Credulous’ and Sunny Wang delivered her CC8 entitled ‘The Trip in Europe’. Talia Chen won the best prepared speech reward.

Acknowledgment

Also sincerely appreciate their hard work of Michelle Yang, Coco Zhou, Sharon Woo, Sandy Zhang, Michael Liu, Martin Zhan and Eva Chen, Eric Liu, Elly Zheng, Eric Liang, Jane Yang and the mentioned and not mentioned.

Guest Sharing

Sydney Justin Harris once said, regret for the things we did can be tempered by time, it is regret for things we did not do that is inconsolable. So without any hesitation join in SZTM immediately! Why not?
