592nd Meeting
SZTM's 592nd meeting, on 10 October 2017, opened with English tongue twisters before Samantha hosted table topics on members' recent holidays. New member Wilson Liao gave his ice breaker speech on changing habits, Martin Zhan spoke about living in the moment, Sharon Wu about the pull of Wi-Fi, and Scarlett He, a doctor, spoke about not fearing hospitals. Terry joined the club as a new member that night.

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:
Wilson gave us 4 pieces of cake: Saving willpower to really important thing, developing a habit to make an automatic system, slowly expanding the comfort zone, following your heart to design the blue print.
Oct 10th
Do you convince yourself of your English competence? Then try to read loud the following tongue twisters as rapidly and clearly as possible:
1) Can you can a can as a canner can a can?
2) I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-creams.
3) Betty beat a bit of butter to make a better batter.
4) Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not, whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be not, we’ll weather the weather whether we like it or not.

Hi there! Glad to meet you here. This Tuesday we had a great time with our SZTM members. Some of you may have missed the chance to feel it there. So I’m going to take you to review it again!
Table Topic
Thank you Samantha as a table topic master. You brought us reviewed our holiday.
This time I want you guys to focus on the speeches delivered by our wonderful speakers! As you all know, there are lots of seasoned members in SZTM, who are DTM, ACS, ACB, ALB and so on. But what you may not know is that we also have some new stars. They have great talents on making speeches and inspiring others. Let’s see how they’ve performed on the past 592nd meeting.
Prepared Speech
Wilson Liao is a very new member in our club, he showed lots of talents on speaking and he was also a positive member to serve for our club. His ice-breaker speech was really amazing. He used PowerPoint to show us ‘How to Change Things When Change is Hard’. We all experienced this kind of situation that we wanted to be better but we still failed in the end. How to deal with it? Wilson gave us 4 pieces of cake: Saving willpower to really important thing, developing a habit to make an automatic system, slowly expanding the comfort zone, following your heart to design the blue print. After hearing his speech, I really think it’s a piece of cake to make a change!

Martin Zhan is a serious and humorous person. This time he told us some stories about ‘Live in the Moment’. All these years, living in the moment was just a blurred picture to him: not thinking too much about the past and future was enough. But after he chatted with Brother Eric, he started to think it in a more vivid way: Living in the moment meant how you felt about each second in your life. If you took a deep breath to feel the fresh air and you stepped on solid ground to feel the earth and at the same time you felt relaxed about what you were doing, that meant you really was living in the moment. He also told us two tips to live in the moment. One was to Focus! Focus on what you’re doing! The other was to Enjoy! Enjoy what you’re focusing on! His speech really inspired me and made me think.

Sharon Wu is our lovely VPE! She is trying her best to serve for our club. Her speech this time was about ‘Wi-Fi and Us’. She mentioned that she couldn’t live without Wi-Fi and often wasted lots of time on it! Why was it so magical! Sharon told us that may be because we don’t know what we truly like or love. Sometimes we just couldn’t help wasting our time because we had nothing else to do. So she recommended us always ask ourselves what our mind really want!

Scarlett He is a beautiful doctor. This time her speech was about ‘Healing’. Most of us thought hospital was a terrible place and we didn’t want to be there. But ignoring some small problems of our bodies may cause horrible troubles to us. So hospital was not a terrible place and it could help us to solve some real problems. Some of our organs could heal themselves, but if they got serious problems, we also needed doctors’ professional advice to make them healed faster. After hearing this, you were not scared of doctor anymore, right?

As their individual evaluators respectively, EVA Chen, delivered their motivational and inspiring evaluations. Michael Liu, our club’s senior driver, delivered the table topic evaluation and Eva Chen, our candid and proactive president, delivered her general evaluation.
