At the eve of the opening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, our club’s regular meeting was coming on 17th October, 2017 as usual. Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind. As a perseverant member, let me try to review the routine meeting which its theme was ‘gold medal match-maker’ and the hot word of that day was ‘hot’ although there wereonly eighteen members and only one guest showing up.

Because of this year’s unprecedented hot summer we straightforwardly omitted the warm-up session that night. Our fresh but humorousmember Nathan Zhang hosted the meeting as the TME. Elly Zheng was the Sergeant At Arms (SAA). As the queen of overusing time at last meeting, Sharon Wu was the timer at this meeting. Sunny Tan was the ah-counter and Wilson Li was the grammarian respectively.

Have you ever experienced as a match-maker? Our amazing and charming Scarlett He was the table topic toastmaster. Pretending to be as gold medal match-makers, every volunteer were required to select one single dog and introduce her/him to all other friends in the meeting. Koby introduced Sharon Wu, Michael Liu vs Sunny Wang(Mentor introduced Mentee), Allen Peng vs Eva Chen, Wilson Li vs Elly Zheng, Eva Chen vs Eddie Peng(really? Pictures, of course!), Sunny Wang vs Michael Liu (Mentee introduced Mentor, vice versa), Elly Zheng vs Carol Ban, Sandy Zhang vs Nathan Zhang (match-maker and lover?), guest ErnestZhao introduced himself, Nathan Zhang vs Sandy Zhang (vice versa, match-maker and lover again?) Can you image that the meeting room had been full of happy laughter and cheerful voicesfrom soup to nuts?

Prepared Speech

Afterwards Terry Mathebula, our fresh member from the Republic of South Africa, delivered hisCC1prepared speech entitled ‘Be Great’, and won the first place of that night’s prepared speeches. Eva Chen delivered her CC9 entitled‘One More Step’, and Sunny Wang her CC9 entitled‘Why VPM?’ Danielle Ouyang her Adv. 9.5 speech entitled ‘Say “No” with Power’

In the intermission of the meeting, our president Eva Chen held a birthday party for those members who born in October. Every member and every guest enjoyed the tasteful birthday cake and delicious fruit to the top of one’s bent.
