600th Meeting

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

One time, she wanted to have a chance to make a data report on public speech, so she asked her boss to have a drink on Coco Park. She apologized to her boss sincerely about her mistakes, finally she got a chance to make report.

We are judged by people every day, people reject me, because I look weird.

So appreciated that I witnessed the SZTM’s 600th anniversary meeting, which gave me much wonderful memories in my life!

Before Sarah joined Toastmaster, she thought she was right and always had conflicts with her bosses every time she quit her job. Because of her stubborn personality, she got loss at how to solve this kind of problem.

After joined the Toastmaster, by learning competent communication skills and competent leadership skills, she learned how to make ice break and became more flexible than before. One time, she wanted to have a chance to make a data report on public speech, so she asked her boss to have a drink on Coco Park. She apologized to her boss sincerely about her mistakes, finally she got a chance to make report.

During Toastmaster, she was willing to take responsibilities without any conditions. When the officer election came, fellows voted her to be the next president. At first, she was afraid to take it, because she just wanted to practice her poor oral English. However, when his friend told her, if she didn’t do anything, her English would never to be improved. Suddenly she thought she had to do something, even though she thought she was not competent as a president, she got courage and confidence, time after time he became a distinguished president. At last, she shared us, the more we give, the more we get.

Debate Session 1

Nathan:“As a man, I am not good at shopping, but my wife is very good at shopping. Whatever everything I need, I don’t need to go to shopping mall and waste time to wandering what I really like. My life can buy everything online, it is so efficient.” so he supports shopping online, he also mentioned that if the buyers sell fake things online, they will be get punishment in the nearly future.

Lily: “there are most professional sellers selling good quality things online, also they give feedback efficiently when you get some problem with the commodity. Besides, if you meet some problem about after-sales service, they solve problem very quickly.”

Judy: “Online shopping is more efficient, highter quality and cheaper than traditional shopping. Such like our club T-shirt, was bought online and we like it very much.”

Online shopping is more reliable than traditional shopping!

Negative side:

Online shopping is less reliable than traditional shopping.

Koby:“human being is easy to make mistakes, online shopping is popular, but it doesn’t mean online shopping is reliable, online shopping just offers cheap and bad quality commodity, and you can’t contact with people face to face when you need some instructions about commodity.”

Sophie:“nowadays, people are very busy in working time, they are full of anxieties and emptiness. Especially for people who work on the internet, they need to have a space to hang out shopping with friends and have fun together.” so she supports traditional shopping.

Samantha:“After-sales service online is not real, most of servicers don’t take control of quality problems, and it takes time to get feedback, even worse, it also takes money to pay the express.”

Vivi:“AI is benefit for development of society, it can help people to do house chore, do dangerous things, especially those simple and repeat. All these things can be replace by AI.”

Joanne: “AI is made by human being, we have enough ability to take control of it. We can make it more and more safe than before. AI’s development is really good for human being. It can reduce manufacture to reduce air pollution.

Gino:“ AI is really benefits for our human being, it can help people to release from some no meaningful job, that people can choose something they really like to do. In our company, we use AI to cleaning office, so we can enjoy fresh environment, I hope AI can develop more and more faster.

Artificial intelligence is benefit for development of society.

Negative side:

Artificial intelligence is harmful for development of society.

Matt: “I am not worried about AI’s development, I am worried about people’s thinking way is much like AI, without compassion and respect for consequence.”

KC: “AI’s development is much harmful for society, If there are more and more automatic machines, people would hard to find a good job, most of them would become jobless, it would cause much more social problems.

Danielle: “ Popular doesn’t mean benefit, AI brings much bad things to human being, it cause people hatred and without compassion for consequences.”

Debate Session3

Ben:“We are judged by people every day, people reject me, because I look weird. People judge me, I judge people. People judge people just through appearance, is not because your inner beauty. If you want look good, it is easy to take a shower, do some sports, and make up every day.

Eva:“If you are a ugly person, it is sad to you. People prefer to make friends with look good looking. I am so busy that I have no time to see your inner beauty, especially for HR, they don’t take time to see your inner beauty, they more want someone with good body shape and self-discipline. Appearance is more important, more and more people take much money to buy something make up. If you become more beautiful and handsome, you get more opportunities.

Ivan Lei: “Both appearance and inner beauty is important, but appearance weighs more than the inner beauty at this modern society, especially for the first meeting. Fengjie turned to be popular, one of the reasons is she did the plastic surgery.”

Appearance is less important than the inner beauty.

Jasmine:“People like to make friends with you, it is not because your appearance, it is about your inner beauty, your courage, confidence, warm heart, and your good personality. Such like Jack Ma, everyone knows his appearance is so-so, if he is not hardworking and knowledgeable, he can’t successful in his career.”

Sharon:“appearance is easy come and easy go, everyone is the same. Appearance can’t decide up our life, when you are in your difficulty, it is your courage, confidence, hardworking and strong willpower, create your life, so inner beauty is more important than appearance.

Nina: “success is not by appearance, friends are not attracted by appearance. Everyone has a different sense of beauty, being fat is beauty in Tang dynasty, everyone can’t own appearance forever, but inner beauty does.
