655th Meeting
A review of SZTM's 655th meeting, held jointly with guests from EOE around Christmas. Table Topics ran through five holiday-themed questions, on subjects from favorite childhood holidays to what to do with a windfall of free time, answered by members including Becky, Mojo, Nancy, and Eric alongside a guest. The evening also included movie-dubbing games for "Kung Fu Panda" and "Frozen," followed by a gift exchange.
The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:
As a child, I cried for cake. One year, I complained to my mom why she prepared no cake. She bought me a cake and then left, without celebration. For me, birthday is the best time every year. Now I understand they love me in different way.
Still remember when I was 3 or 4 years old, I lived with grandparents. Would always wait for my busy parents on New Year’s Eve for hours and hours. In my holiday time, I won’t let my family down. I would spend it with my parents.
Christmas is to be celebrated with family. Today we celebrate it with our toastmaster family and with guests from EOE.

Topic 1:If you get two and half day holiday, what would you do?

I will spend it with family. Still remember when I was 3 or 4 years old, I lived with grandparents. Would always wait for my busy parents on New Year’s Eve for hours and hours. In my holiday time, I won’t let my family down. I would spend it with my parents. They expect me to return.
Topic 2:What’s your favorite holiday? Why?

It’s not Christmas. I get no present. My favorite holiday is my birthday. As a child, I cried for cake. One year, I complained to my mom why she prepared no cake. She bought me a cake and then left, without celebration. For me, birthday is the best time every year. Now I understand they love me in different way. I realize it especially when I have a daughter.
Topic 3: What would you do in a journey when you have different opinion from your friends or parents?
Mojo
We all need personal time. When there are different opinions, stick to your own. Don’t need to bother. You can do it alone and enjoy the time for yourself.
Topic 4:What would choose between 10,000￥ and 3 days holiday?
Nancy
I would choose to work. Right now I am looking for job. Money is not the most important thing. I like work. I need money for living and entertainment. I also need work.
Topic 5: If you would spend 7 days Spring Festival in Shenzhen, what will you do?
Eric
Don’t like lonely holiday. This Spring festival I will stay in Shenzhen. But my dad and uncle’s family will come. I am so much looking forward to it. I grew up in small village. My uncle has never been to big cities. I know a lot of places and can arrange many activities. However, it’s not important where and what to do. It is more important with whom you spend your time.
