圣诞礼物(gifts)

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

I haven’t been to SZTM meeting for almost 2 years. Sorry for Toastmaster members. I need to ask leave from my wife. I think my coming tonight is the Christmas gift.

I planed to give them money. My family was poor, money was so important to our generation…I also can give them confidence and let them grow peacefully.

圣诞快乐

一年一度的圣诞趴来了。大家穿着花花绿绿的衣服带着爱心小礼物来啦。阳光帅气 Mr. Sean 和温柔美丽的 Ms. Tali Gao 携手回归 SZTM，一个他们相识相爱的地方。在美国工作只交会费却不见其人的 James 也来啦。

兄弟俱乐部 NETM 新任主席 Gary 够兄弟。Gary 是块万能砖，哪里需要补哪里。之前补过 TME，补过 IE,今晚他担任 Grammarian.又一个 Grammarian 的标杆， 被一众家人和嘉宾们所亲赖

因为过节嘛！我们先上了 Prepared speeches 这道大餐，table topics 这道精致的点心随后上。

第一位是戏说自己喜欢“早死早超生”的心理咨询师 Eric，他总是勇敢地与他的神秘朋友-恐惧、紧张不安的情绪做斗争，从一个不敢举手回答老师的腼腆小男孩，到现在在头马的演讲台上 Mr. always confident, smiling, smart.所向披靡的 warrior.Mr.Eric 告诉我们上台要 get everything done to make goog preparation。要面对和控制自己的负面情绪,而不是被恐惧所支配“That’s why we call ourselves Toastmasters.”

第二个菜。哦，不对！第二个演讲者 Link 比较调皮：在家人群就自嘲“很久没来头马上台压力很大，准备让自己的小狗代替自己上台演讲”。话说台上 puppy 没看到，handsome boy 有一支。开场就来一句“Last week i had a trip to Japan”,停顿半秒，“with a girl”.顿时，会场一片笑声。看他在台上风趣幽默，自信而又能卖关子的样子，是个人都不相信他紧张。计划去日本的童鞋，记得找 LINK 要省钱秘方（主要从 Accommodation、transportation、entertainment 三个方面省钱）

第三位是 Jane. Amazing Jane is very amazing!临时替补的演讲者，这么短时间内能把 The Opportunity Cost，这么富有哲理的命题讲得深入浅出而且听众还受到启发和反思. 太 amazing 了。首先以平安夜大家选择来参加头马会议，而不是出去玩或者回家看电视；从而失去休息放松的机会；进而诠释了“什么是机会成本”。然后以自己的一次经历：生日当天朋友不远万里赶来一起庆祝，临下班却被老板要求必须完成某一项工作。她妥协之后选择加班最终还非常出色完成了该任务来阐述面对机会成本如何取舍以及该有的态度？鱼和熊掌虽难兼得，选择了就要全情投入其中；有富余再来兼顾其他。深受感染的 Link，做完演讲就火速离开会场陪女朋友去了🤦‍

最后一位演讲者是作为 ice breaker 的 Frank. Frank is pretty Frank.他不加滤镜地自我剖析似的地向大家介绍着自己(工作，爱好和性格）.首先讲到他的工作是 QA(Quality Assurance)而不是问答（Question & Answer）；其次，因为想 quit smoking，而找到的伤痛转移替代品——running.殊不知，跑步一跑起来就上瘾，已经坚持了 3 年（此处的掌声，让我看到大家的佩服；看到 Frank 的状态，得出一个结论：跑步治油腻。）keep running 不但可以 keep strong，还可以 make friends. 还提到 Louis 和 Lizhen 也是 running boy 哦。最后，讲到他的 personality 是 friendly 和 easy-going, 和头马的气质不谋而合。Hi，Frank，big brother. Thanks your speech. From that I know you more.

Table Topics 环节：我们本来是边抽礼物边做演讲的计划哦，但是时间限制，我们先做演讲，最后再大家一起抽礼物。机智的 Adrian, 还是以 gifts 作为这期的主题。

1. TTM, Adrian: I was waiting for the Christmas Eve, I was waiting for my father’s gift. That’s great experience when I was young.(我们仿佛看到了小时候在等待礼物的 Adrian,哈哈) Now lizhen is the father. My question is What will you give to your children? And why?

Lizhen: I have a plan for my children, for my little girl and little boy. When he and she were born several years ago, I wanted them to go to university(in the future). I planed to give them money. My family was poor, money was so important to our generation. When I entered college, I needed to borrow a lot of money from banks and my relatives. 3 years latter, I returned back the money to them. Money can support their university. I also can give them confidence and let them grow peacefully. Money is the first thing I will give to them. Beside, I can give my own experience to them to be a good man and a good woman in the future.恭喜大表哥终于在积极参与无数次 table topic 后获得 best. 无数努力，终于获得认可

2. TTM, Adrian: (To Fish), You don’t have children, you don’t have a girlfriend. So my question for you is when you are young, what is NO.1 gift you always want it?

Fish: When I was a kid, the gift I wanted most is a toy, Transformers. …

Fish 讲述自己小时候很羡慕其他的小伙伴有很多玩具，自己最想要一个变形金刚。毕业后立马买了个变形金刚。”After I got it, I didn’t feel so happy, because I were already an adult. It is a pity in my life. If I had kid, whatever toys he wants, I would buy for him. ”

TTM, Adrian: If I ware single, I chose Fish.(哈哈)

3. TTM, Adrian: If you don’t come to the TM meeting tonight, what will you do?

Louis: I don’t know where to go. Firstly, I am single. Secondary, I choose to be single, I want to stay lonely. I like the warm atmosphere of Toastmaster.

4. TTM, Adrian:(To James)Why Christmas Eve is so especial for you to come?

James: I haven’t been to SZTM meeting for almost 2 years. Sorry for Toastmaster members. I need to ask leave from my wife. I think my coming tonight is the Christmas gift.

Table Topics Evaluation 环节,由于时间限制，Sunny Wang Lian 只用两分钟做点评，接着就是和大家一起唱圣诞歌曲

会议最后 GE, Kai 总结陈词，夸主持人 Mr. Sean Gao, very confident, patient, warm and enthusiastic,夸 Adrian 临出场时换上西装是一种 show respect to us. 点赞我们的 guest, 因为我们的会议临时换了场地有点挤但是 guest behaved so well。
