Meeting #721

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

SZTM is the first TM club in Shenzhen, and Shenyang TM club which found in 2006, is the first one in the Northeast…It is the destiny that let us get together, and I meet another Louis Liu as well. Thanks to Alex, who made the destiny happen.

Sunny was gathering with Carol in Carol’s big house in Dapeng district at the moment. They attended this online together and they looked so happy…we believe that extrovert Sunny will meet her Mr.right soon.

东北人和广东人的线上 英语聚会

-Table topic 粤语、东北话、英语 三语对照-

自从东北来的沈阳头马主席 Alex 因为工作机会留在深圳， 又加入了深圳头马之后，SZTM 的伙伴们对幽默耿直的东北伙伴就平添了几分好奇。刚好疫情期间，各种头马联合会议再也不受距离的限制。由 Alex 牵头的 沈阳头马和深圳头马联合会议就在周四的晚上上线了

TTM 是成熟稳重的 Frank， 话题选的非常巧妙， Cantonese, Dongbei dialect, or English which corresponding to the characteristics of both our SZTM club and Shenyang TM club.

1st Topic: OMG

Fish told us saying ‘OMG’ didn’t solve any problems and he will try to avoid it in the future, face the difficulties and overcome the difficulties. Brave man!

2nd Topic: I think…

When encounters a communication problem, Joan tends to be a good listener. She said, Listen to others, listen more first, and it will give more understanding to each other and then you can find a better way to express yourselves.

3rd Topic: Disgusting people– (negative or positive?)

Louis thought that DISGUSTING is a negative word. It is humanity but we should to be positive.

4th Topic:”What are you doing?”– More serious in English?

Anna (guest) says sometimes it is just a greeting in Dongbei dialect, sometimes, it just like”Are you available to talk?”

5th Topic: I like you.

Sunny was gathering with Carol in Carol’s big house in Dapeng district at the moment. They attended this online together and they looked so happy. About the”I like you”, Sunny said she was still single. From Sunny’s magical laughter, we believe that extrovert Sunny will meet her Mr.right soon.

6th Topic: Careless–Do you think you are a careless person

大圣 is so smart person, when he didn’t have much to tall about the topic, he ask another member Sherry to continue the speech.

TTE Mr.E is an English teacher, he gave very valuable evaluation to each impromptu speaker. He very appreciated the good table topic theme today and said he regretted he not attending it.

Prepared Speech1. VPE Projects

Anything can be projects. Vice President of Education(VPE) of SZTM April told us her quality meeting projects in SZTM Speeches,

workshops and joint meetings are the three major projects. By the way, April hopes that every member can try the meeting manager role to help to improve the meeting quality and as well as his/her own organizing ability.

Evaluator Henry gave the evaluation to April’s speech based on her speech content and her language skills. He appreciated April shared the VPE job contents, working ways and valuable tips for us.

2. Introvert or Extrovert

Agnes from SYTMC told us she is an Introvert person but throughout her powerful speech we found that actually she is very active and positive girl. Introvert or Extrovert is not that important, as what Agnes said, we can have our own leadership style, we can do something to make us happy/great and lead ourselves.

Evaluator Joan gave the evaluation to Agnes’ speech based on her speech content and her body language. A good story-teller always can tell a vivid story and make audience learn something from it. And she always keep smiling during her speech.

3. Health Care Persuasive Talk

Jeff, a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, told us that many people know or can feel that health is import, but are not really aware of that importance, it is not enough. He suggests that we should do something to help ourselves and our family to be in a good health.

Evaluator Stone(From SYTMC) gave the evaluation to Jeff’s speech base on his speech structure. An attractive beginning, a very detailed example during the speech, and a powerful ending which appealing to everyone to take action, make a great speech.

4. When I am old

Holly from SYTMC was doing her ice-breaker speech. She said she started to think of what to do when she getting old after her grandma past way. Her speech is just like a poetry. She plans to read many books, enjoy lots of beautiful scenery in her old age.

Evaluator Fish gave the evaluation to Holly’ speech based on her speech content and structure. Holly past us very positive energy to try to find solutions and think of the meaning of life. And she used many parallel sentences that made her speech very beautiful.

Timer Paul just said “You are all qualified, thank you.”in his report speech to save time.

GE Louis Liu (From SYTMC) used two key words to summarize this meeting. One is INTERESTING, I think it also means that our joint meeting tonight is very great and successful. The other one is DESTINY. SZTM is the first TM club in Shenzhen, and Shenyang TM club which found in 2006, is the first one in the Northeast.
