The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

Fish said the happiest thing for him currently is that he had been out of Hubei and back to Shenzhen last night. “The smell of the air is freedom.” he said.

As a doctor, he always feels sad because he has seen so many people going through live and death, it is ok to feel sad but it’s more important to get over this bad situation.

Zoe said she was very angry when she knew that her salary was reduced unreasonably, it is her colleague who should pay for his own mistakes.

SZTM online meeting is a platform where we can practice our oral English skills and establish our confidence in speaking online. Practice makes perfect! Last Tuesday, we have learned how to use stories to handle the table topics from Eddie’s workshop. This Tuesday, it is time for all of us to use what we learned to practice, practice and practice! Time to suit up and show up!

TTE Sunny Wang Lian, who dressed very formally and gracefully, hosted the whole meeting very smoothly and actively. She also won the best master and the queen of Word of Today(literally).

We had three table topics in tognight’s meeting, Let’s enjoy speaking more.

NO.壹. Eomtion

Adrian was the first TTM. He gave the key words of the topics related to emotions to each speaker. The inspiration of his topic comes from the movie named “Inside Out”.

“Happniess”. Fish said the happiest thing for him currently is that he had been out of Hubei and back to Shenzhen last night. ”The smell of air is freedom.” he said.

“Sadness”. As a doctor, he always feels sad because he has seen so many people going through live and death, it is ok to feel sad but it’s more important to get over this bad situation.“Angry”. Zoe said she was very angry when she knew that her salary was reduced unreasonably, it is her colleague who should pay for his own mistakes.“Fear”. Ree said she have seen a horrible movie named Hold Your Breath. She gave us a brief introduction about this movie.“Disgusting”. Frank said that was really embarrassed but he became stronger afterward and he feel thankful to the boss. “Thankful”. Eric said he felt thankful to the one who encouraged him to come to the stage bravely and speak confidently. Well preparation will make you speech better and believe in yourself.

NO.贰. Varieties

The second TTM Fish, he showed his engineer talent in hosting this part. He showed the VBS file on the PPT and then he asked speakers to choose a number as a code to select their topics. Besides, he creatively added more high level of requirement such as vocal variety and parallel sentence to his speakers.

Lingyun, Sunny Wang Lian, Sandy, Joan and Robert(guest), you were so brave to try that. All of you have done very good job!

NO.叁. HappyEnding

The third TTM Zoe, she is very good at writing plays. She chose interesting topics based on different words and pictures. She stipulated that all the speakers must start their speech with a sad story and end it with happiness. Sandy, Joan, Adrian, Grass, Vivian-Pan, Jeff, Sunny Wang Fang and Roy told us their own interesting stories in this part. Every speaker needed to make up a story based on the picture and key words on the PPT.

NO.肆. Evaluation

Equivalently, we have three table topic evaluators in our meeting tonight. They are Louis, Vivian-Liu, and Frank. They are all listened to the speakers’ s speech very carefully and gave very detailed evaluation their speakers. Big hand for them! Timer’s job was really tough for tonight’s marathon meeting because we had so many speakers tonight but April did a good job in controlling the time. Grammarian Joan used both PPT and a video to introduce the Word of Today, that was really detailed and impressive.Golden sentenceFish: The smell of the air is freedomRobert: I admire you smile. You dress neatlySandy: Life is very dramatic, something starts very hard but bring us happy ending. GE Eric creatively used a new way to deliver the general evaluation speech. Before he evaluated the TME Sunny Wang Lian and TTE Louis, he asked them to say something to evaluate themselves and then he started his evaluation based on their speeches.
