//WHY//
Why do you want to be a good evaluator?

Zoe:We want to make the speaker to accept our points happily.
Jeff:A good evaluators are also good communicators.
Fish:evaluators normally need to improve their own communication skills first.
Effective evaluations are so much important in many aspects in our lives, such as motivation, building good relationship and positive environment.
So that is why we thought effective evaluators are good communicators.
🔻
//Main//
In our personal communications. If there are 100%, our body language and facial expression takes 55%, voice takes 38% and our spoken words only takes 7%.
So that is why vocal variety, body language and facial expression are so important during our speeches.
For explaining this, Adrian showed us three short videos about the teachers who are delivering their speech during the COVID-19 outbreak recently.
And moreover, he led us to find out and express what we felt from the teachers’s speeches.
🔻
//What//
What would effective evaluators say?
Adrian thinks that effective evaluators encourage, enlighten and empower the speakers.
Find the speakers’ shining points and give them positive evaluations.
Adrian thinks that effective evaluators encourage, enlighten and empower the speakers. Which means we should find the speakers’ shining points and give them positive evaluations.
🔻
//Practise//
Speaker I Chrissty repeat her self-introduction speech to use the suggestions of evaluation from her Ice-breaker speech.

Spear 2 Sara - A DTM who have been joined TM for 13 years, delivered her speech
We shared our opinion as an evaluator after their speeches with Adrian’s help.

//Real IE//
IE Vivian Pan evaluated Christy’s speech: Voice is up and down and eye-contact is good. Personality is short and special. Suggestions: add more emotions.

Many gestures that is good.
The ending question-“This is my …, what about you?”It is impressive. Confused: From your life, work, study and driving learning experience, what kind of chance you got from your changes?
Adrian added evaluations to the two IEs:
He found Vivian looked at her script while Zoe didn’t.
Because looking at the camera equals to eye contact. It will be more comfortable and audience can see your facial expression when you looking at the camera.

Adrian’s Summary:
Communication is important for everyone.
Feedback is the most important thing for speakers, because they are able to make changes next time.
