Meeting #738
SZTM's 738th meeting on 27 July 2020 ran under the theme "unpredictable," hosted by TME Link Lian with table topics led by Fish. Four prepared speeches covered ground from Miguel Ye's icebreaker on growing up in Spain to Tao's "Embrace the Boredom," and members later held a BBQ to see off Adrian Wong before his return to Canada.

The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:
Because of the Covid 19, she lost her job as a tourist guide. And she nearly got overwhelmed, after a short rest in her hometown, she recovered and back to Shenzhen, she made her new plan to keep healthy and keep on running
our Angel Adrian Wong will back to hometown Canada several months, our members have a BBQ farewell with him
he find his gift-leaining English. And he insisted on learining it for 9 years, then English opened his door to the world

Life is unpredictable, what makes a regular meeting unpredictable? Its table topics and the speakers’ performance are all unpredictable. SZTM’s 738th meeting’s theme was “unpredictable”.
TME Link Lian, Who had no better choice but TME, the meeting master. How confident he was！His appearance was unpredictable, because he was busy, busy in work and date. His hosting style was a little bit black humorous. He like a chain, connecting the whole meeting, make the meeting go smoothly.
The table topic master was Fish, he brought the topic about “unpredictable”. This idea was remarkable, he wanted us to explore the uncertainty of life.
Can you imagine?“unpredictable girl, unpredictabl gentle, unpredictable baby, unpredictable parents, unpredictable money, unpredictablecareer”, All theses can be topics Adrian, Jeff, Danniel, Louis, Lizhen, Christine delivered their impromtus speeches in 2 minutes individually, they connected imagination to reality, shared their own stories and understandings, their perfomance were so awesome and gave us unpredictable feelings.
Sunny WangLian gave her evaluations to this part. She was careful and straightforward, such as keeping stable at the stage, and making full use of the time, and having a strong conclusion. It really helps.
For the prepeared speakers.
The first one was Miguel YE, it was his icebreake speech, his speech tilte was “where are you from?”He introduced him to us, he grow up in Spain, and his hometown was in China, he studyed in Hongkong and now works in Shenzhen, with a international experience, he told us the difference between Chinese and Spanish people. His story was very interesting, and we learned a spanish accent English.
The second speaker was Vivian Liu, Vivian’s title was “ I am back”. Because of the Covid 19, she lost her job as a tourist guide. And she nearly got overwhelmed, after a short rest in her hometown, she recovered and back to Shenzhen, she made her new plan to keep healthy and keep on running, with a healthy body and energetic sprit, all the obstacles can be overcomed.
The third speaker was Vivian Pan, she brought us a marvelous speech of “from 0 to hero”. At first she told us that everyone was born with a gift, we need to find it, if we can find it and use it, we will do our best. She took Jack Ma as a example, he find his gift-leaining English. And he insisted on learining it for 9 years, then English opened his door to the world, enlarged his eyesight, and he meeted internet and build up his businees empire. Vivian told us, if we wake up and find our passion, then we can grow from zero to hero. What a inspired speech, I felt the electric flow pass through my body when hearing her speech.
The fouth speaker was Tao, his title was “embrace the boredom”. Nowadays, we often feel bored and spend much time on watch cell-phone, we has a illusion of learning sth, actually our brain was controlled by our cellphone. How to deal with it? He choose to run, with one boredom to replace another boredom. Running force him to think deeply and find the purpose of life again.
For each speakers, their evaluators gave them feedbacks from many aspects. They comfimed their shining parts and also gave them improving advises.Lizhen, Frank Zhou, Jeff, and Zoe gavet their detailed evaluations individually, they helped the speakers to improve and do better and better.
During the meeting, our facilitator team timer David, Ahcounter Lizhen, Grammarian April worked hard and at the end gave their reports, they are the granttee of our guarantee of meeting quality. Thanks to your deligent work.
As usually, We voted the best of the meeeting, best table topic speaker Jeff, best facilitator David, best master LinkLian, and best evaluator Frank Zhou, congratulations to all of them, they are our model.
And at end Eric did general evaluations to the whole meeting, he is very good at evaluaton, often using simle words to summarize the speech, that makes the evaluation clear and impressive. He also advised the evaluators to encourage the speakers more. His evaluation gave the meeting a unpredicatlbe perfect ending.
Our meeting also attracted many guests, they are English and speech lovers, at the meeting, they introduced to us and shared the feelling, some of them also joined the table topic speech, this part is open to all the guest, welcome all the guests, some day you may be a member like us.
After meeting, because our Angel Adrian Wong will back to hometown Canada several months, our members have a BBQ farewell with him, hope he have the nice time with his family, then back to SZ ASAP.
