The club posted its own write-up that week. Some of what it said, in the words it used:

she talked about the scenario that if her ex-boyfirend loves her best friend, what would she do? she simulated a conversation with her bestfriend, and congratulated them, her fast reaction and excellent performance won audiences’ big applauses.

She shared with us her two main experience of being volunteer. She accumulated the experiences and also the confidence through the past, and don’t give up easyly, any problem is no problem for her.

Did you hear the pomodoro technique? It is an effective time management method and a best seller book. Last Tuesday evening, we were honored to invite the translator 大胖老师 to have a workshop. Plus, we had two experienced speakers and an awesome table topic session relevant to relationship. It was a fruitful meeting.

0Introduction

The meeting host was Louis Liu, an old member and a newbie as master. He was well prepared and bold enough to challenge the new role. Wonderful performance!

1 Table Topic Section

The table topic speech session was hosted by Megan Luo. She has nice pronunciation, and fluent spoken English, also the topics were critical. About relationship, ex-boyfriend, office romance, family relationship, strangers…. really tortures of soul, six bold speakers delivered their short speeches around these topics. Eventually, Erica won the best impromptu speaker, she talked about the scenario that if her ex-boyfirend loves her best friend, what would she do? she simulated a conversation with her bestfriend, and congratulated them, her fast reaction and excellent performance won audiences’ big applauses.

2 Prepared Speeches

Then there were two prepared speakers. The first one was Frank Zhou, his title was “How to negotiate a pay raise?”. He told us three elements: well preparation, right time, and show aprreciation. And most important, company need you! So not everyone has the weight to negotiate with boss, think twice. The second one was Sunny Wang, her title was “Glad to be volunteer‘’. She shared with us her two main experience of being volunteer. She accumulated the experiences and also the confidence through the past, and don’t give up easyly, any problem is no problem for her.

3 Guest Sharing Time

During break time, we had guest sharing time, Stella held this part, there were nine guests joining the meeting, they eager to practise spoken English and make friends, it is the right palce, welcome all the guests and look forward to join as a member.

4 Workshop

The most expected part was workshop part, brought by大胖老师. He taught us a appliable time and enegy management method——The Tomato Technique. Nowadays, with the devolopment of society, time period is more important than time point, work time has elasticity, so it depends on us to manage it. To summarize, sorting the things by importance, do the most important thing at first and quickly, focus on the first 25 minutes to do it, and then rest for 5 minutes, then focus on next 25 minutes to do the less important thing, by order. Priority and focus are two key words. 大胖老师 presented the workshop very clearly and we learned it quickly. Back to home, we need to divid the time and count down. It was a very applialbe method, and it was our honor to learn from 大胖老师，thanks so much to his precious workshop. Evaluation & Facilitators’Report

We had invidual evaluators and general evaluator to give the feedback to the speakers, they picked out the shining points, gave suggestions, very helpful to the speakers. And also we had four experienced members to serve as facilitators, timer, grammarian, Ah-counter, and Harkmaster, they guaranteed the meeting quality and timeline. Thanks so much to all of them.

6 Voting for the Best

At end, we voted the best roles, they were the best speaker-Sunny Wang, best table topic speaker-Erica and best master-Megan, best evaluator-Eric, best facilitator–Jane Liang, congratulations to all the best, learn from you!
