Meeting #753
SZTM's 753rd meeting on 13 November 2020 took "marriage and appreciation" as its theme, with singles and married members sharing contrasting views. TTM Eric Liu hosted four prepared speeches, including Link Lian on sales technique and president April Luo's reflection on her years with the club, while table topics master Sharon Wu asked six speakers, married and single, what marriage meant to them. President April closed the meeting by announcing SZTM would move on from Zhonghe Building to a new venue.

Appreciation and trust are the principles of a goodrelationship, including marriage. Toastmaster is where leaders are made, and also where couples are made. Last Tuesday, SZTM held a meeting to talk about “Marriage and Appreciate”, two groups, the singles and the married gathered to share their perspectives.

TTM（总主持人）
The master was Big smiling brother Eric Liu, a warm and smart man. He is always the best for every role, amazing and incredible. His smile can warm you and his voice can melt you.

There were four prepared speakers.
The first one was Link Lian, whose title was “Sales
skill:S.P.I.N”. He is an entrepreneur and a senior sales manager. He taught us four steps to make a deal: Finding the right person, making investigation, Confirming the purchasing ability and making a deal. What a wonderful welfare it was to learn about it in SZTM because it was an advanced marketing course.

The second one was Li Zhen, we call him big brother. His title was “Marriage Life”. When we get married, we make a family, and there are many trivial things that we need to tolerate, Li Zhen took his example to tell us that marriage means sharing responsibility.

Sunny
Eleven
Sunny Wang and Eleven evaluated them individually. Sunny praised Link for his concise structure and good gesture and also advised him to pay more attention to the speech objective. Eleven’s evaluation was very fast but accurate in the word usage, and very detailed, he also picked out some mistakes for improvement.

The table topic speech session was held by Sharon Wu. Sharon is an English teacher and it was a piece of cake to be the master. Teacher Wu led us to explore the essential questions of marriage, and six speakers went to the stage to share their views about marriage, including the ones who were married and still single, their thoughts and views were various, just like every marriage is different.

Louis Liu evaluated the table topic speech part. He divided the speakers into two different groups, the married and the singles. The married group had a deep understanding of marriage and had more to share, and their advice was more detailed, and the singles had more dream for marriage. Marriage is just like a siege, we won’t know what it is until we go into it.

Then it was the break and guest sharing time. There were old friends coming back to the meeting, and some guests showed their will to join us, warmly welcome all the guests.

The third speaker was Yannas who was an energetic and powerful girl. Yannas shared with us about her own funny stories in her senior high school life and the stories happened in Shen Zhen. All the stories she told us were about her own reflections about being herself or socialization, after a period of hesitation, she decided to be herself and not care about what others said. What impressed the audience a lot were that Yannas quoted a poem during the speech and also sang a song at the end of the speech. The atmosphere was pretty lively.

The fourth speaker was from our great and graceful president April Luo, She showed us three letters: APS. As for letter A, April showed us her own unique learning experience and career development. As for letter P, “P “ meant pursuit and she told us about her amazing relationship with SZTM and some touching stories with the audience. As for letter S, in April’s eyes, letter S meant wealth. She warmly welcomed the guests to join SZTM. April’s speech left a really deep impression on all of the audience. Her integrity, positiveness and responsibility all contributed to the fast and healthy development of SZTM. Thanks a lot to her great leadership and all the effort from all the officers of SZTM.

Joan
After that, Joan Zhang evaluated the third speaker Yannas. Joan spoke highly of Yannas for her courage, flexibility and calmness in front of the audience as an ice-breaker speech. Joan had a lot of expectations from Yannas. Fish Liu evaluated April, our great president. Fish thought it was a wonderful speech.

Then came to the facilitator’s report. Max Liu, Harry, James, Zoe Zhang did the report in detail

. Finally, we voted the best roles: best speaker for April, best evaluator for Eleven, best table topic speaker for Fish, best facilitator for Harry Wang. Thanks to every facilitator, you made the meeting go smoothly.
At the end of the 753rd meeting, president April declared that SZTM would be held in another gorgeous place. Best memories in Zhonghe Building. We all had a great time here. Hope to have better meetings in the new place.
