A milestone with a Halloween pulse

SZTM’s 900th meeting turned “Screams and Smiles” into more than a costume-season theme. The room carried the excitement of a milestone, with ghoulish fun, playful table topics, and a promise of “frighteningly good speeches” and constructive feedback. The word of the day, “dreadful,” gave the evening just the right theatrical touch.

Fear, questions, and release

The prepared speeches formed a surprisingly connected journey. “Fear” brought the very real challenge of public speaking into focus, while “Planning for SZTM 20th Anniversary” looked ahead to the club’s next shared chapter. “A journey with questions” used refreshing visuals to make curiosity part of the presentation itself. Then “It is time to release” shifted the mood inward: the speech opened a wound and invited the audience to witness part of a healing process. The evaluations that followed were remembered as empathetic and encouraging—an especially fitting response to a vulnerable message.

Smiles after the meeting

The conversation continued long after the formal agenda. Members offered limited Halloween gifts for the table-topics “princesses and princes,” gathered for food, and planned a Huizhou outing full of walking and eating. A forgotten phone became the night’s final comic beat: “这个年代，能忘手机的人，我好好奇😯” The verdict from the group was simple: “our table topics session was really engaging!”
