Meeting #903

Leading, Learning, and Laughing

Leading from the Stage

The 903rd meeting brought together four different ways of learning in public. “Be the leader you want to be” opened a reflection on leadership and its impact, followed by a beginner’s badminton journey that connected persistence with Toastmasters’ idea of mentoring. The room then turned to a lively everyday question: “E-book VS prinded books.” A humorous social speech, “Toast to my brother,” rounded out the prepared-speech lineup.

Small Moments, Strong Support

The chat showed the meeting being built in real time. When a participant felt unwell just before the meeting, the response was immediate: “你好好休息” (“Get some good rest”), while the team looked for someone to cover the evaluation role. During the program, a practical nudge helped locate the objective for the book debate: “以后在微信搜索这个,找到你演讲的objective.” Another message—“in case if you don’t know which song is being played”—captured the playful, attentive atmosphere around the room.

A Splendid Close

The evening ended with “let’s call it a day,” followed by repeated cheers of “What a splendid day!!!” Appreciation flowed back just as warmly: “Thank you so much for your positive feedback and encouragement ☺️☺️☺️ so excited and grateful.” The meeting’s real theme was visible in that exchange: people stepped up, helped one another, and celebrated the courage to keep learning.
