Four Speeches, Four Journeys

The 945th meeting explored cities and food through four prepared speeches. Peter X delivered his Ice Breaker, sharing why he joined Toastmasters. Poornima brought humor with “Love Story 2.0,” while Alfred made a persuasive case for Dali as a travel destination, complete with cost breakdowns and journey details. Josh closed the prepared speeches with “A Changeable Man,” an Ice Breaker tracing his life choices from civil service to new adventures.

Table Topics and Evaluations

Enya led the Table Topics session around the City & Food theme, with Christy handling the Table Topics evaluation. The meeting featured a full evaluation lineup: Eleven, Tao, Edwin, and Poornima each evaluated one of the four speakers, with Brent overseeing as General Evaluator.

Community Moments

Before the meeting, Poornima shared an article about a Toastmasters club formed by POWs in Hanoi’s Hoa Lo prison, sparking a conversation about the power of storytelling. Eleven arrived straight from the airport, using the meeting to shake off jet lag.
