Cyber Fraud
The notice for the club's 947th meeting, themed 'Cyber Fraud', poses a set of rhyming Chinese taglines about scams and get rich quick schemes, followed by an English line asking whether members have received scam calls or know someone who lost money to fraud.

A Centennial Tuesday
This meeting landed on October 22, exactly 100 years after Toastmasters International was founded in 1924. Four speakers took the stage. Ivy opened with “Are you still crying too?” (PM1.3), followed by Rita’s Icebreaker on the power of entrepreneurship. DC delivered “Small Cleverness and Great Wisdom” (PM3.6), and Tao closed with “Me and My Cigarette” after stepping in as a last-minute replacement.
Cyber Fraud and Comfort Food
Christy ran table topics on cyber fraud, originally planned as “cyber security” but switched to something more relatable. The session produced lively impromptu responses, with members sharing scam experiences and debating how to stay safe online.
Before the meeting, Tao brought scallion pancakes from his hometown to share, and Stella supplied a carrot cake for the October birthday celebration. As one message in the group chat put it: “不要吃饭 不要吃饭 不要吃饭.”
