The debate special

This was no ordinary Tuesday. Stella cut a speech slot to make room for what turned out to be the highlight of the evening: a debate on “Should couples split bills or share everything?” The topic, proposed by Eleven, had already set the group chat on fire days before the meeting. As one member put it: “只有吵架才有这么有热度.” Someone else renamed the club on the spot: “深圳吵架俱乐部.”

Poornima took the pro side; Eleven took the con. The matchup was billed as “演讲比赛冠亚军之间的较量🔥🔥🔥” and it lived up to the hype. During the debate, the group chat lit up: “神仙吵架太精彩了！没来的错过一个亿！” Emma sponsored four small gifts for the winning side.

Everyone wanted in

Brownie signed up for the debate before even seeing the topic. “连辩题都没看到就直接躬身入局的，看来是真想吵了.” Poornima, originally scheduled for a prepared speech, postponed it to join the debate instead. After the meeting, Brownie reflected: “很开心，虽然没赢，但是至少站起来了，没有紧张到说不下去.” Anna’s reaction was more visceral: “笑死我了😂气势赢了.”

Behind the scenes

The week leading up to the meeting was rough. Multiple members were out sick or traveling, and Table Topics was cancelled after the TTM fell ill. “感觉这周 SZTM 水逆,” Stella sighed. Eleven’s response: “哈哈 不怕 現場分一分完事 問題不大.” The show went on, and Sammi stepped up behind the camera, delivering photos that drew their own round of praise: “今天是摄影师级别的照片,” “终于有人拍照比涛叔好了,” and from Stella, “瞬间想把我的手机扔了.”
