Meeting #981

The Essence of Romance

Being Mortal

Edwin’s panel discussion brought a weighty topic to the stage: mortality, aging, and what matters at the end of life. Drawing from Atul Gawande’s Being Mortal, he invited three guests to join a conversation that turned the usual speech slot into something closer to a group reflection. The room was hooked before it even started: “今晚的 panel discussion 一整个期待住了.”

After the meeting, the book was still on people’s minds. Ivy shared an e-book copy of Being Mortal in the group chat, and someone summed it up neatly: “不知死焉知生.”

It’s Never Too Old To Learn

Camellia took the stage for her Icebreaker, introducing herself to the club for the first time. After the speech she wrote: “Thank you all for your encouragement and support.” Camellia also served as On-Camera Master for the evening, pulling double duty at her very first meeting as a speaker.

A meeting worth talking about

The post-meeting chat was unusually lively. David’s summary captured the consensus: “今天的会议质量非常赞……TME, Panel Discussion, Icebreaker Speech, Table Topic Session……等等,每个角色都做了充足的准备, 再次印证:Sufficient preparation makes a great meeting.”

Tao posted a video from the after-meeting hangout with the caption “大家意犹未尽.” Camellia replied: “Captured the Moment.”

Meanwhile, Brownie announced a new club activity, Collecting Puzzle Pieces, encouraging members to try different roles. Brent, who had already done them all, asked: “敢问主席,路在何方?”
