Four speakers, one summer night

The lineup had people excited before the meeting even started. “今晚的阵容太棒了，好期待,” someone wrote in the group chat that afternoon. Four speakers took the stage: Susie on her weight-loss team, Tao pitching a proposal, Brent wrapping up his pathway with a storytelling project, and Lori delivering her Ice Breaker. Lori’s title said it all: “Jump in, experience everything.”

Liz from H3 Toastmasters served as General Evaluator, bringing a cross-club perspective to the feedback. Brownie pulled double duty as both SAA and Table Topics Master, kicking off the evening with a warmup game.

Brownie’s Table Topics session stayed on theme. Two of the questions stood out: “Do you agree to cancel homework for students during summer holidays?” and “If you could go back to your summer holidays and help your younger self to schedule a day, what would you plan?” The next day, Brownie posted photos from the session: “table topic of last night, what is your stories ??”

After the meeting

The group chat came alive with photos. Linna had been sending on-camera shots in real time during the meeting. Emma posted her meeting review so fast that Brownie replied: “So quick ! !” Jason posted a photo that prompted the comment “mike 死定了,” to which Mike responded: “幸好带着女儿.” A discussion about one of the photos led to “啊？没有本人漂亮,” which Jason turned into a grammar joke: “负 负得正.” Brent then fired back: “你语法这么厉害，grammarian 又不讲？”
