Endorphins and Dopamine
Prepared speeches
Four speakers took the stage. Tracy delivered her Ice Breaker “Learn What You Need,” having wrestled with her slides the night before: “本来想做 PPT,发现更耗费时间,” she wrote, settling for “不行我就搞多一点图片” instead. Brownie’s “What Makes You Happy Today?” was a deadline baby: “演讲催我早起写稿了,” she admitted, adding “灵感只在 deadline 出现.” David signed up for his slot with a coin-flip commitment: “如果下周二在深圳我就来做一个 speech(一半一半的机会),先填上,周一再确认.”
Table topics: the Insurance edition
Jason ran Table Topics under the theme “Endorphins and Dopamine,” but the session quickly drifted. The group’s post-meeting verdict was unanimous: “大家一致认为 Table Topic 的主题是:Insurance.” Someone summed up the keywords that actually dominated the evening: “Diamond ring, money, rich, happiness, investment, and insurance.”
The Shallow Conference
Grammarian Maecenas introduced the word “Shallow,” which produced the night’s best laugh. He mentioned attending some “Shallow conference 很水的会议,” shortening it to “水会.” Jason, catching only the last two characters, enthusiastically agreed that he too often visits “水会,” a word that also means bathhouse.
Behind the scenes
Lori took on Meeting Manager for the first time while doubling as a speech evaluator. “浅浅分享一下昨天做 MM 的感想,” she wrote the next day, sparking a thread on balancing multiple roles. Brownie’s response captured the group’s sentiment: “Lori 对自己要求好高的,真的是非常非常优秀的伙伴.” The evening left its mark: “今天的很好玩,笑得肚子痛.”
