Birthday, cards, and cake

The 994th meeting was not a meeting at all. On the eve of National Day, fourteen members gathered at Taotaoju Restaurant for a dinner party. September birthday stars Christy, Brent, and Jason Yu got their celebration, complete with a cheesecake brought in for the occasion.

Before the food arrived, a card game took over the private room. The moment someone mentioned Guandan, Brent was sold: “你一说掼蛋我就不困了，等我.” Zhou Song had brought the cards; Brent and Anna jumped in without hesitation.

Games and greetings

Brownie had proposed playing English games over dinner: “吃饭来用英文玩个游戏,” followed days later by the idea of an English version of Spyfall. Whether these games actually happened over the Cantonese dishes remains between those who were there.

The group also recorded a birthday video for H3 (BB), their brother club turning nine. Brownie scripted the cheer: “十拿九稳，九五至尊，九州四海,” ending with everyone shouting together: “9 周年生日快乐，快快乐乐!”

After dinner

Photos went around the group chat. Stella, watching from home while her son Noah fought the flu, commented on the pictures: “SZTM 的男神们” and “SZTM 的女神们.” Christy spotted something in the photos: “Jason 化了妆.” Jason, meanwhile, had a more urgent concern: “我猫的饭合呢？？”

Anna wrapped up the evening’s accounting: “小孩不算，14 人，人均 145.1 元，棒棒哒.” Tracy asked if anyone had taken a group photo. The answer: it was on Jason’s phone.
