Humorous speech and evaluation, in two languages

The club’s autumn contest, run in three parts: English evaluation, Chinese humorous speech, English humorous speech. Thirteen contestants. Jessica, a guest from Dream Act, gave the demonstration speech, about trying to learn to cook by applying plan-do-check-act and finding out the food was still bad.

Selina Yuan, who took second in the English humorous contest and second in evaluation, had nearly not entered at all:

she wanted to give up at first, but she conquered herself at last. She thought it seemed like a destiny to stand here giving a speech, sometimes we just need to change our perspective, and keep going on with ourselves.

Lila Liang said something the write-up kept exactly as she said it: that the stage is an amazing place, and it can cure her tired body and heart.
