Rooms We Have Met In

The club has met on a Tuesday evening since 2003. It has not always met in the same room.

Two of the moves are documented to the month, because the person writing the weekly notice simply changed the address at the bottom of the email and everyone followed. The rest we can only place roughly.

  1. 2003 → 2012

    Somewhere before this

    The invitation to the 300th meeting, written in 2012, says the club's address had already changed three times. Where those rooms were is not recorded anywhere we can find.

  2. 2008 → May 2014

    Xinghua Building, 12th floor

    Tuesdays, 19:30 – 21:30

    2018 Shennan Zhong Road, Futian. Out of Science Museum station, exit B, then fifty metres west. The club's old website already lists this address in 2008, and the mailing list keeps using it until 25 May 2014.

  3. June 2014 → about 2019

    Xinghua Building, room 6B

    Tuesdays, 19:15 – 21:30

    Same building, six floors down. The first notice from the new room goes out on 29 June 2014. The meeting start time moves to 19:15 in the same batch of emails, and has stayed there ever since.

    Futian, about a hundred metres from Yannan station. The club's Facebook page gives this address two different ways in the same paragraph, so the exact room is uncertain.

    178 Mintian Road, Futian. Out of Futian station, exit 3A. Guests are welcome any Tuesday; you do not need to tell anyone you are coming.

Dates come from the club's own notices: the mailing list [email protected] for 2012 to 2015, the Facebook page for 2019 to 2022, and the current agendas. Where a move could only be placed to a year rather than a month, the label says “about”.
