Visit a Meeting
Guests are welcome at every meeting, free of charge. You do not need to book, and you do not need to prepare anything.
When and where
Every Tuesday, 19:15 to 21:15. Registration opens at 19:00.
New Oriental, 3rd floor, Huarong Building, No. 178 Mintian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (福田区华融大厦3楼新东方).
Take the metro to Futian Station and leave by Exit 3A. The building is a short walk from there.
What happens when you arrive
Someone from the officer team will be at the registration desk. Say you are a guest and they will find you a seat and explain the evening.
The meeting runs in English and follows a printed agenda. You will see prepared speeches, an impromptu speaking round called Table Topics, and evaluations of everything that happened.
About two thirds of the way through there is a guest sharing slot: each guest gets thirty seconds to say what they thought. You can take it or pass. Most people take it.
Joining, if you want to
There is no pressure to join, and no one will chase you. When you are ready, the club follows a simple path:
- Attend 3 meetings
- Speak 2 times, which can be Table Topics or a meeting role
- Submit 1 application
Membership costs ¥600 as a one-off registration fee, then ¥700 per half year. Most of that goes to Toastmasters International as your international membership.
